Guest Col city fan Posted 13 March 2012 Posted 13 March 2012 Most certainly is !! Not many of us on here that go back that far !! Hehe! Thought so... What a blast from the past... Can't recall whether she was Corry or Crossroads though?
TrentFox Posted 13 March 2012 Posted 13 March 2012 Hehe! Thought so... What a blast from the past... Can't recall whether she was Corry or Crossroads though? Corry. Sad story, but in the original pilot in '66 (?) she went into the corner cafe and asked for a cake. Minnie Caldwell said "do you want a vanilla slice or a choc eclair". She siad "choc eclair, as I don't like vanilla slice". Three years later she went into the corner shop and bought a vanilla slice. Granada TV had over 200 compalints from viewers, saying she would never have chosen that !!!! Can't think why, but it seemed appropriate for coming on this forum, as some people on here never seem to forget anything anyone ever said, no matter how trivial !!!

To be honest I have no idea how her name came to my mind cos she was before my 'Corry time'.. I think mum used to have it on when I was a kid and the name must have stuck! And yes! I can see the relevance now.. Cheers pal
