The Real Problem

We were in spitting distance of the playoffs with a loooong time to go. The players hadn't had so many games together either, what with new purchases and with injuries to starters - like Vassell.

My position is clear. Sven wasn't given enough time, the team has some quality players, the team has some inconsistent players, the team has some prima donnas. So we're going round in circles.

Over the course of the season I believe I've been proved right about the players. Most of them are average and we have a few quality players and a few shit ones. Ask any team in the league and they'll have put together some great performances. Doncaster beat Southampton from memory, Coventry just won away at Hull. This doesn't prove they have quality players.

Vassell being a 'starter' sums up the average quality of our squad. He is useless as a winger and has a poor goalscoring record as a striker.

So we were 'in spitting distance of the play-offs'. But we weren't in the play-offs were we? Being near the play-offs ins't good enough. And we were getting worse so chances are we would have got further away.

I still don't get why the pro-Sven argument is we were near the play-offs. We spent twice as much money as anyone else, play-offs was not really good enough, only the top 2 was really acceptable for what we have spent.

Everyhing pointed to him not doing what he was appointed to do. I have no idea where people's faith in him came from once we got to October.

You're still trying your superior approach I see.

So if you're not quetioning quality and inconsistent wich were the words I used we'll move onto your new completely pointless argument.

Shit and average - Tomarto and Tomayto

Both words are quantifiers and therefore a form of comparison.

What is the qualitative difference between "Great and average" and "Good enough and shit" ?

Your "average" means that they are not good enough to get promotion. My "shit" means that they are not Great enough to get promotion. My word though is more colourful and demonstrative whilst yours is boring and plain. Possibly sums us up.

Sorry "shit" is more pejorative than "average". This is such a boring point and more fitting for an English Language forum.

The real problem has to be in the picture down below. We've spent plenty in recruitment to the squad, but seemingly we run out of ideas. Perhaps some shrewd signings to the most important element of the team would be considered? We have Nigel steering morale and the defensive line and mentality.

But looking at this picture shouts out

.Who's generating the attacking plans and feeding the capabilities of the squad?

If we don't look to bring someone in, then no matter what money we spend on the areas that are needed, we'll run out of ideas. We can't be expectant that the players will come up with these themselves. We don't have a team of Messi's.
