good bloke isn't he? CRMC is great, love to watch them, especially the outfits. never marshalled for them - my loss! might have a go this year, when are they at mallory/donny? are they short of marshalls, most clubs seem to be now, everyone wants the 'glamour' of BSB etc. Doing EMRA, North Gloucs and some bsb's plus moto gp and WSB. funny, enjoy club racing the most.

Mallory is on the weekend of 30th June/1st July and Donington is on 11th/12th August. The club is always after more marshalls.

I got my ticket for Silverstone through for June. Happy days.

I got my marshall pass for the GP at the weekend. Usually marshall at Copse, but might move to Stowe this year

Cool - I think we're in a box of some kind courtesy of BMW.

The Isle of Man TT starts this week

There was a good programme on ITV4 last night about John McGuiness and it showed a clip of Connor Cummins crash from 2010 that I had never seen before. It really demonsrated the dangers of the TT:

Theres TT programmes at 9pm everyday for the next week on ITV4.

I had a great weekend marshalling at Stowe. I had Bautista and Spies crash within 2 minutes of each other on Friday. 3 good races yesterday, but the best race was the red bull rookies race. 14 riders side by side into vale on the last lap :D

Watched the race from hospitality - Cal was great value - he'll get a better ride next year, I'm sure of it.

Sad to see Rossi struggle, would like to see him on a decent machine before he retires.

at least the weather held out. looked good on the box.

marshalling not looking good for me this year, not be3en in the best of health and got an op at the beginning of july which will prevent anything for a month. might do the classic meeting at mallory before though.

how many bike marshals are there on this forum?

The Moto3 race today is the best motorcycle race I have ever seen.

Agree, was excellent. this class is now better than the 125's in my opinion, and i'm sure it will get better.

Cals bad luck continues, almost punted off at the first bend, but brilliant recovery. one of these days...........

Cal Crutchlow says he is in "deep discussions" with Ducati about a possible move to the factory squad from the 2013 MotoGP season.

Crutchlow, currently riding for Yamaha's satellite Tech 3 squad, lies fifth in the championship, having finished fourth on two occasions and never outside the top eight.

His aggressive riding approach has also earned plaudits, and could prove a harmonious marriage with Ducati given its similarities to Casey Stoner's style.

Speaking ahead of the German Grand Prix, Crutchlow told the BBC that he wanted to be at a factory team, making Ducati a logical choice.

"We are in deep discussions with them [Ducati] because at the moment there is nothing for me at Yamaha," Crutchlow said.

"I could ride for Tech 3 again but it would mean not being on a factory machine, and you're not going to win a world title not on a factory machine, it's as simple as that."

Crutchlow said the fact factory deals are usually two years also influenced his decision, saying it made a future opening at another factory team an even more distant prospect.

"Whoever is going to be signing with the factory teams is doing two year deals, so that would mean I can't be with a factory team for the next two years," he said.

"Maybe we are looking quite high, but if I didn't want to win the championship I wouldn't be here. I think [winning the championship] next year is unrealistic, but maybe the following year.

"There is a strong link with another manufacturer, [but] at the moment we don't make any decisions."

Should Crutchlow seal a move, it would likely spell the end of 2006 world champion Nicky Hayden's four-year spell with the manufacturer. The American has taken five podiums in that time.

I think this would be a big mistake for Cal

yes, you may be right. seems like he's desparate to get a full factory ride, he'll go anywhere. Stoner tamed it, but the other bikes have moved up a step. shame he can't get that yamaha ride

Was very impressed with Bradl today, he's building on his Moto2 title that he won last year and is proving that the junior classes are fantastic breeding grounds for young riders to flourish.

It's also interesting to hear that Marc Marques is moving up to the Honda Repsol team next year to replace Casey Stoner. He's a potential superstar and he should of won last years Moto2 title if it wasn't for a bad injury that kept him out of the last three races of the year. Theres rumours that he has been on much superior machinery than his rivals all his career and he's quite a dirty rider but it will be very interesting to see how he gets on in MotoGP.

Given his reputation in Moto 2 it could be interesting, I'd like to see him try and lean on some of the big boys! I cant stand the little spanish sh*t!.

He will be up there next season for sure. He weighs about 3 stone wet through, so can get the bike back up straight & on the power super quick out of a corner. I reckon he'll be testing the big boys in his maiden season.

He is light but apparently Stoner and Pedrosa are lighter.

I dont know the figures. But Stoner is done this year & Pedrosa is overrated in my opinion.

Ben Spies will be leaving Yamaha at the end of this year, probably paving the way for Dovizioso to take his seat. This could also mean that Tech3 could field the British duo of Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith next year.

Did you see Ben spies after he crashed in qualifying? Was staggering as if he'd downed a bottle of whisky! Hopefully he's fine, would like to see him get a result.

there are a number of Racesafe Marshals there, mate of mine at the corkscrew, apparently the IO at the corkscrew is also Racesafe. By all accounts the Americans are impressed with the standard of marshaling from the brits. We're the best!!

Ill health ruined my season, best I can hope for is BSB at Donny and Silverstone, plus remaining EMRA at mallory
