Think it may be per day you put down. http://eon-uk.com/me...energymenu.aspx I can't see how I use the gas to warrant my bill. I probably had the CH on more in the winter but that is the only gas appliance I have. My gas fire has been disconnected for a year. There was a check and the engineer did it because of a problem with the chimney. I just haven't bothered to get it done. I use my electricity more. My PC is always on maybe I should switch it off overnight as well as my Virgin set tob box. The rest like kettles and microwave would not take much. A laptop takes less than a PC so I could use that more. Food for thought for anyone needing to save. Just did a very rough guess on the menu thing. According to it I spend 99p per day on energy. I could be out either way but in 3 months that's £90 and that doesnt include all the extras. They say 50% of your bill is energy use. So it means my bill is not far out. Frightening.

Last bill May 1st and the debit has increased by about £10 although I will have £68 DD coming out tomorrow. Probably will go down next month or so. The meter is due to be service but its in the entry and nobody is around when they call.. Calling them up tomorrow to see if theres a cheaper plan and maybe arrange a visit. Could easily be a fault if it hasnt been serviced for a while. Just hope its not being syphoned.

Sure makes a hole in the child benefits. Do you even want to know what the X Box and playstation costs?
BoneDog Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Yeah the tumble drier is a beast. The red dot on the electric meter flashes like crazy when the tumbler's on. The kettle and electric cooker are also culprits of eating electric. We've got a pay as you go electric machine and get through between £1.50 and £2.00 a day.

Got a coffee making machine which I bought when my last kettle stopped working but itt wasn't the same. I have done coffee inthe microwave 1-1.5 min then put milk in. Or heat it up. Don't know that works out less. Mirowave 2p 10 min Is the immerson gas? Emmerson heater47p per hour. Thats why my winter bill was so much I had the CH on almost all the time.

Thats why my winter bill was so much I had the CH on almost all the time. imersion heaters are electirc, and sure they cost more to use than gas.. have you checked at moneysavingexpert.com ? they usually have great tips to reduce outlays.. from tips on there some of our biills are sky full tv package =£24. month (half price for year, each year).. broadband, £6.25with o2.. kids blackberry about 67p per month after redemption.. my vodaphone sim £4 per month..
Rincewind Posted 1 July 2012 Author Posted 1 July 2012 Dont know why my gas is so much then. Its a gas boiler I am sure. Glow-worm. I have a device from Eon which gives you your monthly cost. Only thing I stopped using it. Its plugged in but I haven't updated it onto my data base. It has to be transferred via the PC. Just checked it whilst using my microwave and kettle. The per month soon changes. Perhaps I should have checked it more over the winter. Still what I'm paying now will pay for next winter my DD might be reduced. They've changed it from £57 to £68 £33 a quarter.
