Anish Posted 11 July 2005 Posted 11 July 2005 Source: OS Leicester City today announced their match ticket prices for the coming Championship season with the re-introduction of match-by-match benefits for members and FREE entry for the under-eights.Ticket prices have been frozen at last season's rates but discounts of between £2 and £5 per ticket for adult members have been re-introduced. Season-ticket holders will also benefit from the discounted rates when they purchase their first additional ticket per match, if required. Free match tickets for under-eights within the bmibaby Family Stand will also be made available. "We are delighted to announce the new pricing structure for match tickets for the coming season," said City's Head of Football Administration Chris Tinbergen. "With the re-introduction of members' discounts of between £2 and £5 for every home league game next season, plus the introduction of the under-eights go free policy for the bmibaby Family Stand; we think our pricing structure is a generous one. "Our season-ticket holders have received by far the best deal financially but we are hopeful that the match ticket pricing structure is also seen as a further commitment by the club to offer our supporters as good a deal as possible." The level of discount will be announced as each game goes on sale. Match tickets for City's opening home league fixtures against Stoke City on Tuesday, August 9 and Ipswich Town, on Saturday, August 13 will go on sale to season-ticket holders and members on Saturday, July 16 with general sale commencing two weeks later on July 30. It looks like the club are realising that they need to put bums on seats. I for one am glad that they have reintroduced the price discounts for members for matchday tickets. Finally LCFC doing something good for their fans

It will be interesting though to see what happens in the event of us being succesful on the field and if we start pushing towards full attendances. Will the club stick with the non paying under eights?

It does seem that getting a better atmosphere is the goal here.

We pay the money to see the team without no team there would be nothing to market. Good results and quality marketing will make good sense.

Sunderland have always given away (literally) thousands of tickets to schools and families to boost their crowds - over 10,000 for some games. They won't do so this year, but they don't have to. It will be interesting to see what the attendances of QPR and Leeds are like as they've upped their prices by upto 50% in the close season. Of course, the key to it all is a winning team.
