Rincewind Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Just a quick mention of some things happening. On Saturday the torch for the Paralympics is in Leicester. There are various activities around the big screen. Sunday is the GoSkyRide. Thie route is from Abbey Park City Centre, Phoenix Square and Spinney Hill Park.. Various things going on and volunteers to help are welcome. Get on your bike and join in. There is a new library opening in Leiceste. Now don't get on your high horses they are not relocating the present one. This is a new idea run by Citizens' Eye. It is a Peoples Library at Apex on Charles Street. From what I understand there will be volunteers acting as books where members of the public can borrow them and be given information on various social issues such as homelessness, asylum seeking, help for the elderly amd unemployment etc. At the coffee meeting this mornig ithe question was put forward whether there would be a fit young blonde that you could borrow for re-enactment of 50 Shades but it is doubtful this service or taking home the book will be available. This will be launche at the next Leicester Community week in November. I can give further details of the above but I believe most will be on the Leicester news sites such as This is Leicester.

We are looking for things to put on the website. Doesn't have to be about the homeless. The idea of DNO is that it is run by people that have been through the system as a News Agency. Will take a look at the torch and the bike run. I have a mini recorder. Only need enough for a paragraph or two.
