Posts which have not been accessed recently and ones which have been not closed should be deleted as it would free up space and improve the accessing time of the site!

I don't know much about the internals of this forum (yet).

In general, there is no absolute need to delete anything.

Very old posts/threads could be archived, if needed, so that they can still be accessed when required.

Incidentally, what gives you the impression that we need to improve the access times of this site?
