New York Metro Stars

Recommended Posts

MO JOHNSTON could fast forward Peter Canero's career in New York after Craig Levein killed his dream of making it big in England.

The former Kilmarnock defender has a verbal offer to join New York Metro Stars, the side Johnston coaches in the MSL, on a short-term contract.

He'll be trim and fit if he does, Bob Bradley and Mo Johnston run fairly tough training sessions here.

I don't think we need another right back on the squad, the team really needs a defensive midfielder who can tackle or someone who can put the ball in the net. Also, I hear Levein let him go for a good reason.

Everybody on Metro's coaching staff's job is on the line right now, so if MoJo--the assistant coach, btw--is going to recommend new players, he'd better get approval from the manager and general manager and they'd better be good otherwise he'll soon be looking for new employment.

P.S.: These damn newspapers still can't get the name right! It's just "MetroStars," one word, two capital letters, no "New York," "New Jersey," or the dreaded "New York/New Jersey." And MLS, not MSL!:P
