Player attributes

Just read through the Lloyd Dyer thread and noticed a couple of posters saying that they would happily sell Dyer.

Got me thinking about what I look for in a City player and what other people think are the important attributes they should have.

First and foremost for me is passion and work rate. That is non negotiable for me, you can have the quality of Cristiano Ronaldo but if you don't apply yourself, get lost.

So many of the players I really liked/like for city I see people think are gash. For example, and I know I'll be laughed at for this but Iain Hume. There is no doubt he lacked serious quality but his work rate was second to none. Just love players like that! Vardy is similar in the fact that he isn't obvious class (although at times he provides some magiv) but he genuinely works so harder for us and you know he wants to improve.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying any old shite can come in and run around like a headless chicken.

The Mon era is a prime example of players playing above their ability. There was class in those sides (Muzzy in particular) but in general we were punching above our weight. The perfect player was Steve Walsh for me, just sums up the type of player I want to see in a City shirt.

Sorry if this is a pointless thread and poorly written but just thought I'd share my ramblings lol

No player is perfect as long as they are committed to the club for the duration of their contract and their skill set is such that it makes the combined skills of the whole squad strong and balanced then I don't really have a problem with player's weakness.

If a manager signs a player and them plays him in a team or in a way that exposes his weakness at the expense of his strengths then that is the manager's fault.
