Louise Posted 9 August 2005 Share Posted 9 August 2005 Well, I'm not sure how they managed it but... Gerry's Let Off City defender Gerry Taggart has had his red card against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday overturned by the FA on appeal. The former Northern Ireland international faced a three-match ban, starting at his old club Leicester tonight, but that has now been rescinded after a disciplinary panel reviewed video evidence from the weekend game. Taggart was dismissed in the 13th minute by referee Mark Clattenburg for a foul on Owls' striker Leon Best. Said Potters boss Johan Boskamp: "This is great news and a great boost for us ahead of tonight's game. Gerry's a big figure in the dressing room and his experience will be needed at Leicester. "We always felt the decision was harsh, that's why we appealed, and we feel the correct decision has been made." http://www.stokecityfc.premiumtv.co.uk/pag...~696877,00.html I fancy him to score now. Thracian Posted 9 August 2005 Share Posted 9 August 2005 He'll score and stop us from doing so 153190 If Connolly's brave and attackers make runs to expose him 1 on 1 with Gerry then we'll either get goals or a penalty. DeVries' trickery might tempt the big fella to be indiscrete too. Lots of low crosses, twist and turn their defence. Shoot on sight.
Thracian Posted 9 August 2005 Share Posted 9 August 2005 He'll score and stop us from doing so 153190 He won't get much chance if our defenders don't go diving in for reckless fouls outside the box and we don't give away careless corners.
