i think nige may just plump for a 4-2-3-1 as this can be very defensive or attacking depending on the situation and the midfield is where a lot of games can be won or lost

Some excellent incisive comments on this thread. Do worry about the 4231 thought though as the last team I saw played that got knocked out the World Cup very quickly.
