davieG Posted 22 August 2005 Share Posted 22 August 2005 In no particualar order The ball hitting the back of the net The floodlights on a dark, winters evening showing up the falling rain. A sliding tackle throwing up the water off the pitch as the ball is propelled off the opposing players boot. Walking out with the crowd after a pulsating game and hearing all the animated and excited voices The anticipation as the players prepare to kick off. A slide rule pass from one side of the pitch to the other A spectacular leap by the goalie to pluck the ball out of the top corner A simple one-two one-two leaving the opposition player on his arse wondering where the ball went A sublime back heel placing the ball at the feet of a team-mate as he rushes past the defenders having anticipated the pass The body swerve of the winger as he goes one way and then the next and then…..leaving the defender in his wake. A high powered cross from the wing met by the diving head of the eager striker propelling the ball into the back of the net pass the despairing hands of the goalie. They'd have a bit more feeling not to mention a bit more content.

Durnerz Posted 22 August 2005 Share Posted 22 August 2005 The smell of the matchday food That moment when theres just a slight silence of anticipation as the ball travels into the net,and when it hits, the explosion of the crowd. The Banter between supporters. The divided opinions.
