So apparently Blackett is being considered for England but no mention of Moore. Who is more experianced and before better. What a joke!

I was saying to a mate a few weeks ago about Blackett getting into the under 21's. There are players in the under 21's who despite not playing much first team football, have clearly been on the radar, and spotted playing reserve/youth matches. Like Garbutt at Everton for example. Blackett had never been in the U21 squad, until he played and put on a not very impressive display v Swansea, and suddenly he's in the squad.

It's a bloody joke. Yes England are short of centre backs, left sided in particular. But Blackett really isn't the answer.

If you're English and play regularly for a big club it would be harder not to get into the England squad. Been that way for years, I don't have any expectation of hodge being the man who changes it.

The lad may have potential but he should be putting in decent performances on a regular basis (like Liam) before being considered for international honours.  A bit too early in his career.

Not at all surprised. You only have to look at Smalling regularly making the England squad but someone like Shawcross has never really got a look in

Blackett for England? Moore is already a better player than him, and a better prospect IMO. Of course, Liam doesn't play for a top 4 club, so he's got no chance. There are plenty of other better defensive options out there than Blackett too - like others have mentioned; why has Shawcross never gotten a look-in? Micah Richards is right - if your face doesn't fit, you've got no chance with England. Part of the reason our national side is such a joke.
