Player Profile

The Leicester-born right-back saw his career cut short by injury after making just three Football League appearances for the Foxes.

He spent much of the first post-World War 1 season playing in City's reserve side but, after signing professional terms, he stepped up to deputise for the injured Billy Barrett at the start of the 1920-21 season, making his debut at Clapton Orient, but injury cut short his campaign, being sidelined from October until March of that season.

Clarke looked for better fortunes with a move to Halifax Town but he suffered more injury set-backs in the pre-season for the Shaymen and called time on his career. He did make a move to play for Barwell United, where he finished his football career.
