C-man Posted 4 August 2005 Share Posted 4 August 2005 Here are the new Forum Prediction League rules which will apply throughout the 2005/2006 season unless otherwise stated. To predict, you post what you think the score will be, for example ‘Sheffield United 1 Leicester City 2’. Then you predict a first goalscorer for each team. Danny Webber (SUFC), David Connolly (LCFC) for instance. If you predict that either team or both teams will not score, you put down ‘No scorer’. You will score points for your predictions in the following way: - 1 point will be awarded for a correct match outcome (e.g. Leicester win, a draw or Leicester loss) - 2 points will be awarded for the correct score line. - 1 point will be awarded for the correct first Leicester Goalscorer. - 2 points will be awarded for the correct first opposition Goalscorer. - 3 bonus points will be awarded for getting 3 of the 4 predictions above correct. - 5 bonus points will be awarded for getting all 4 of the predictions above correct. However, if you predict 0-0, the above bonus points will not apply. The league system will be similar to the one which takes place in the football league. There will be a Premiership, Championship, League One, League Two and Conference. At the end of each month, there will be relegation and promotion. After each month, the scores will be reset to zero, however the scores will be kept separate, and totalled for the end of the season. The overall score winner will gain the prize of the ‘Forum Prediction League Champion 2005/2006’ and there will also be ‘Premiership’, ‘Championship’, ‘League One’, and ‘League Two’ winners who are the predictors who are top of their respective leagues come the end of May. These are the leagues which we’ll start August with. They are based on where people finished last year, and the new members which predicted first in the Sheffield United match thread. Any more predictors which start within the season will start in the Conference. Premiership 1. Wellman 2. Desert Fox 3. Connolly!!! 4. Rachel - WCF 5. Scowy 6. Mr Chainsaw 7. Davieg 8. Carlo 9. If you wish to join the league, just give a prediction in the current match thread. You will be entered into the Conference to begin with, but then you can make your way up the league ladder. We hope that these rules are clear and we’re sure you will get used to the new rules.
City Fan Posted 2 October 2005 Share Posted 2 October 2005 New Rule: Over the next week, I am going to PM those who have yet to predict in the Prediction League this year to inform them they are in the Prediction League and to tell them that if they don't predict at least once in the month of October, they will be dropped from the game. Also, members will be dropped from the game if they haven't voted at all in a particular month. They will hopefully receive a PM before the last game of the month to remind them that they have yet to predict.
