Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 Probably had this topic before but I'm relatively new... Leicester City 1 Crystal Palace 1 Izzet 90 ...heading into the final stages, 1-0 down at home to Palace who I believe were bottom of the table and were dreadful all season, especially away. Padovano scored their goal, good turn and shot on the edge of the box. Looked like a poor home defeat when we won a corner in injury time (or it might have been a throw-in right in the corner of the pitch). Taken short to Izzet who looked up, stepped inside a defender who flung himself in the air to try and block a non-existent cross and curled the ball into the far top corner of the goal. Not the best goal I've ever seen but when added to the feeling of relief that we hadn't lost to a team as poor as Palace, it meant everything. There are contenders for this (Izzet's flying header to put us 2-0 up at Pride Park after 2 and a half minutes for example) but considering most people will probably have forgotten this game, it meant so much at the time.
Ric Flair Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 The beauty about that goal was Izzet was injured and didn't want the ball played to him so he just hacked it in to get rid of it. Quality. What a legend Muzzle is, proud to have witnessed the genius at work.
Frenzied Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 Going to have to go for an obvious one - Claridges in the Play-Off final against Palace. The whole ground was stunned into silence for what seemed like an eternity when the ball hit the back of the net; then the Leicester end absolutely erupted - never forget that.
Chimp Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 The last minute goal against Aresnal last season to draw 1-1... the only worthwhile thing whateverhisnamewas did all season.
stez Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 this is a close second to the claridge goal. corner from gary mills forced over the line by speedie shortly after speedie was sent off for some reason, but its a favourite because it was one of my first real high pressure games (having missed the oxford game) at filbo
Benji Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 walshes 10th minute injury time goal at home to arsenal to cancel out bergkamps hat-trick (although i think it was walsh?)
Scarby Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 Matt Piper Vs Spurs one of the most important goals in the History of the club.
MON Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 Matt Piper Vs Spurs one of the most important goals in the History of the club. 84689 What do you mean by important? Because we were already down. That was a memorable game though. Mine was the Stan Collymore goal against Chelsea to make it 2-0, at stamford Bridge.
Guest Daniel Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 Walshs header agaisnt the sheep to make it 2-1 at Wembley or the Claridge shinner.

Scarby Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 by important i tihnk he means as a landmark 84697 correct

Jonbluefox9 Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 Away at Bolton last season when Les Ferdinand scored right at the end of the game. I go to school with a Bolton fan who was at the game but in with the Bolton fans and It was looking like I'd be going back to school after the Christmas holidays to a load of stick but then Sir Les got the equaliser. One of few games last season where we got something in the late stages of the game and didn't lose in the last minute. Marcus Bent scored from quite far out that day too. Anyway, it was an amazing feeling to score so late on after a season of late disassters.

Jonbluefox9 Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 wasnt the game of silly free kick games? No but Ferdinand scored in that game too. This was the one at the Reebok just after Christmas. It was absolutely tipping it down and there was a strong wind too. I was right at the back of the top tier and there's a gap at the back of the Reebok that let all the elements in. I was freezing.
