If City had managed to sign Maynard and Kebe and maybe a defender and a midfielder that was better than the once we had, a promotion would be possible, now we are allready to far behind to reach a straight promotion. The teams in front will not collapse and they are solid and good organised. It's time for a reallity check a new manager and someone that can tell the Thai owners that building a football team will take more than "not enough money" and "loan signings on inflated sallaries". Sad to see such a great manager mess up such a great chance to bring glory to Leicester City.
Charl91 Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 The players shold be good enough. Should be.
Legend_in_blue Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 Well yes, let's go and buy the league "ivarti style". You have to love an ivarti post people! Brilliant.
ivarti Posted 10 September 2011 Author Posted 10 September 2011 Well yes, let's go and buy the league "ivarti style". You have to love an ivarti post people! Brilliant. If you are to buy this league, which is one of the 8th or 9th best leagues in Europe, you need to use more money and buy even more quality than City have done. So the answer is, invest less, have more patience and be shure to buy players that can progress. If not you are lost in the Championship.
Legend_in_blue Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 How can you buy more but invest less? Er... The sentence below is true... The sentence above is false...
I am Rod Hull Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 Sven is a name and not the one to get us promotion.... Wakey wakey.... The sooner he`s gone the better.... If you think otherwise, please explain.... Explain how Sven is the man to get us up.... Withdraw your heads from his arse....
ivarti Posted 10 September 2011 Author Posted 10 September 2011 How can you buy more but invest less? Er... The sentence below is true... The sentence above is false... Must explain for you again then. Sven is looking for a quick fix, getting us up fast and easy, then he needs more money to buy more quality. The players he have signed on loan and permanent are not players that will secure him a straight promotion. If he had managed to sign players on a shelf higher, he could have bought himself out of this, but the money used is not enough. So the answer is, use less, be more patient and let the team progress, 50 players in a year is more like a suicide than a plan for a promotion.
Legend_in_blue Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 The problem is not the players, it's the system on the field of play and the lack of an alternative which is far more worrying.

ivarti Posted 10 September 2011 Author Posted 10 September 2011 The problem is not the players, it's the system on the field of play and the lack of an alternative which is far more worrying. That is also true, but all things are down to the players, a team is about 11 players performing well together, and a balanced squad that gells together over a period of time. Why do you think teams like Brighton and Southampton are doing so well ? If you change and chop you will have to tell the same story so many times that the once being there have heard it before and gets tired, while the new players needs to have time to find out what things are like. The time you told a bunce of players to "go out and play" are over years ago, and maybe suited for Sunday League Football. You must never underestimate the opponent, they are also prepared for games and then you have the answer really. Players needs time to adjust, to build a strong unit, and the season has started and then times runs out and while others makes small adjustments, Sven is probably looking for new loan signings, starting a new rollercoaster ride in the dressing room, throwing the next group of established players out. If Sven has started his rebuild in January, not been to upset by not reaching the play-offs last season and not looked at himself as the only manager in the Championship that knows how football is played, then maybe he would have had a chance, but now he looks lost and bringing in more players on loan would just look crazy.
Legend_in_blue Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 The manager then ? For someone who is supposed to be "world-class", questions have to asked surely? For me the fact that he is managing at Championship level has nothing to do with it either. The mistakes and tactical decisions which are being made are amateurish regardless of which league we are playing in. 1) A 4-3-3 system tried and tested to be ineffectual with our current and past squad of players. 2) No backup plan. Devoid of ideas with which to change and influence the game. 3) Today, naming 5 subs and not a striker amongst them at all. Do 1, 2 and 3 reflect a manager who is "world-class"? No, I didn't think so either. Don't get me wrong, I'm not part of the Sven out club, but when you look at where we're at, the fact that these decisions have been made by Sven baffles me tbh. I could understand it last season but this season we continue to make the same mistakes. Why can't he see it?

Stand UP... Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 Its so frustrating why he continues with this 4-3-3 bollocks. We only ever work well together as a 4-4-2, we dont have the best wingers in the world but Dyer and Gallagher down the wings works so well. I dont want sven out at all and hopefully its a matter of time before he realised this formation just does not work.

I dont want sven out at all and hopefully its a matter of time before he realised this formation just does not work. I would have loved Sven to stay forever really, but he has not managed to make any progress in a year, and how can he develope a team he just recks apart week after week, changing and chopping, using money like water and buying players and paying them sallaries they don't deserve. This is a new Peter Taylor saga, and he is at an age that makes him a man that might not look too far forward. That might also be the reason why he has tried to go for the quick fix and that his management career is close to the end. Very few at the age of 63 has a lot of time left in top management. Sven has been brilliant, but for Leicester he looks finished and he probably relise himself that he is working on over time, not being able to bring his ideas forward to a group of players that more or less has been like talking to people coming and going at a train station

A good run over the next 4 or 5 games and all of a sudden we're in and around the top and looking like we could challenge for the title - you cannot judge the table after just 6 games. edit: Oh and the only way any loanees are on inflated salaries is if they are on them at their parent club, and I highly doubt we're paying every penny of their wages.
ivarti Posted 11 September 2011 Author Posted 11 September 2011 to answer the question no See how many teams have come from 8 to 7 points behind, to grab a promotion, very few, we are lost, will not be promoted this season and must settle for a midtable position. You surely don't know much about football and the way this league works. Check your stats, and start living in the real world. Sven has made mistakes and he has a group of players that at the moment needs time to adjust, and during that time other clubs will win football games and then 8 to 7 points will be 10 or 11. Santa is surely also coming to you this year, he stopped visiting my place when I was 4.

The money used on Yakubu, Davis, Naughton and many more of the loan signings are in a region that no other club in the Championship would be able to pay the same. For the Yakubu case, check LCFC's bank account and then check Yakubu's contract with Everton, I think you would find out that City paid the lot.
