Looking at both teams you have to say we are better and should win but with Cooper you just know Southampton will be the better side.

BDR and Soumare ahead of McAteer and Alves on the bench. Absolutely honking. Can’t wait for it to be tight and Southampton inject 3 or 4 subs before the 70th minute and start to pummel us before the inevitable Ayew single sub and then Fatawu and Edouard in the 86th minute. Then Soumare in the 90+1.

Simple response to this is to look at Coopers wider PL record compared to Andoni’s.

Naaaaaah. He had Phelan, Carrick and McKenna among his coaching staff so I’m willing to stick my head above the parapet and say his two decent full seasons there were largely not down to him 😂

You could see what he was trying to do though, turning a slow and defensive side under O’Neil into a higher tempo and high energy side. Also if you have a look at who they played in the first 9 league games it really was quite ridiculous. Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and both Brentford and Brighton away.
