He’s the managing equivalent of Cava. It’s dressed up like Champagne, you think this looks interesting, you get a bit excited about the bubbles and then you realise actually it’s just a shit imitation of the real stuff with a horrid after taste.
Please go and get a manager who will actually put his faith in youth.

If I played in the same team as Jordan Ayew I’d be punching his ****ing head in every week. Greedy ****.

I mean, I can’t stand the club right now but I don’t get the hate for the manager. When will people realise that we have a truck load of shit players? You can only go so far with players that aren’t up to the job!
what has got us here isn’t bad manager failings, it’s failings to get any decent players in for the past 5 years whilst selling on or letting decent ones go on a free.
No manager can solve this! It needs Top to either sort out his minions beneath him, or sell the club so we can get fresh ideas
He’d have more credit in the bank with the fans if he stuck to his words from the summer that he was going to give youth a chance.
Aluko, Evans, Okoli, Nelson and Page should all be regulars in this team. He needed to show he was actually building a team and thinking long term, all this bollocks about “it’s a fresh start for players” was never going to fly, he lost the good will when he started rolling Faes and Vestergaard out again every week.

Just to really raise the mood if we get a 9 point deduction we will be 22nd in the league.

How the **** has he identified Jordan James as the midfielder that needed to come off? Blokes ****ing brain dead.

What I mean is I don't see why Nelson would sign a new contract with us if he is just going to sit out of the squad the whole season and not be developed at all
The handling of Ben is being completely mismanaged by the club. Let’s be real about the situation, unless he starts getting opportunities he won’t sign a new deal and we will end up losing him for nothing.

Wout Faes owes Fatawu big time today. Said it in the match thread but his decision to dive in for that challenge was the actions of a player who quite frankly is thick as ****. There was no need to attempt the challenge and even though he did win the ball, it was a risk that didn’t need to be taken and the angle of the tackle and the view point of the referee meant a bad decision was likely.
Anyone sticking up for him for winning the ball is completely missing the point, it didn’t need to be done and for someone who gives off the arrogant air of being better than this level, he’s let himself down massively twice already at Swansea today and away at WBA.
Give Ben Nelson a chance Marti, FFS.

He does nothing wrong, would we be praising him if he just left his runner and let him take the ball inside our area rather than challenging him for it? Perfect tackle, ref has an absolute stinker.
Im not fan of his, but this is madness. It’s a goal kick, the swansea lad is lying to try and get a corner and the ref is in his own little world.
How can you watch that and think that making a slide tackle was the right decision? If he carries on running he’s gonna end up kicking the ball out for a corner kick anyway. The risk he’s took to try and win the ball isn’t worth it.

I only played as a centre half for 30 years, but for my tiny amount of knowledge that’s a great challengeIt’s piss poor defending. Going to the ground in the box like that is giving the referee an opportunity to make a bad decision. We’ll have to agree to disagree on this one.

Not by me. Nelson needs the opportunity now.

Anyway stupid play from Faes aside, buzzing to be back in front. Class from Abdul.

That’s rubbish their player would have crossed that without the challenge.
He didn’t need to slide in at all. Anyone who doesn’t see that just doesn’t understand football. There was zero need to slide in the box like that, it’s stupid ****ing football from a player who has no business playing for us anymore.

Nothing wrong with Faes’ challenge there… clearly won the ball, played it onto their player. Goal kick
That’s ****ing bollocks. The ball was going to run out of play. There’s **** all reason to make that challenge.

You can say he got the ball but making that challenge and going to ground gives the referee the opportunity to make that decision. It’s bone headed play from someone who claims he’s a ****ing international that deserves to be playing at a higher level.

He’s going nowhere there. Doesn’t need to make that challenge, the **** is such a ****ing liability.

This is the biggest underlying issue to me. But we have a squad bereft of quality attacking players, even at this level.
He’s got to have players near the wingers when attacking to draw men away from them. All teams double up on our wingers and shut us down.
He’s got to be bolder in how we approach games, we were far too passive against a poor Wrexham side. I also don’t think he reacts to what is happening in games well. He made the wrong decision to take JJ off at half time against West Brom and he’s made 2 substitutions at 1-0 tonight which completely lost our control of the game.

Daka is liquid dogshit, Page and Monga look promising but they’re still 11. And James does look decent, but that’s about it. Our squad is largely made up of people who move at a snails pace. The reason marti has reverted somewhat from how he played at qpr is largely because we don’t have many runners
He could play the below and we would have far more energy and freshness within the team. The manager is ****ing it.
Jakub
Ricardo
Okoli
Nelson
Thomas
Winks
JJ
Fatawu
Page
Monga
Daka

I’m fed up of sacking managers every 9 months, stick with him, hound the owners, the board and the players out.
You’re not wrong about the owners and the board but he doesn’t have to include some of the players he is. Okoli and Nelson could quite easily replace Vestergaard and Faes, Soumare could have come on today instead of Skipp, hell even Ricardo could have sat in midfield for the last half hour, the only decent thing he did tonight was include Bobby and Daka, Daka is getting pelters from fans even though we looked far more menacing in the first half because he has pace and runs in behind and got the assist with lovely play between him and JJ.

The bloke talks a good game. His treatment of the likes of Page and Nelson quite frankly is disgusting. Page, 17 year old lad getting good minutes, didn’t really put a foot wrong, signs a new deal and gets cast off back to the U21’s. Nelson has 1 opportunity in a changed side in the cup and yes didn’t have a good game but he’s clearly the long term future of our club, played really well under Maresca in the games he got when we were last in the Championship and got rave reviews at Oxford and he’s not even making the squad for 2 players in Vestergaard and Faes who made it crystal clear they didn’t want to be here. We are 5th despite him not because of him, a real quality manager would have this team much closer to Boro, we are 1 point off 2nd despite his rancid approach.
