Recruitment has improved 100% agree but that's only because we have spent beyond our means.Thomas hasn't at to look at castaways he's had the luxury of being able to sign proven County players like Cox Green Davey Eskinazi Jonny T etc -

1 Griffiths good signing for the most part barely missed a game for 3 years before fading.Took 40 wickets first season. 2 Welsh Had some good knocks in white ball cricket doing well for Zimbabwe 3 Barnes was ok always gave 100% and a useful batsman 4 Davis Again not the worse done ok for us and took a wonder catch in the one day final 5 Sakande Done well for England under 19 and ok for Sussex who wanted to keep him so can see why we signed him but agree wasn't great. 6 Walker highly rated when signed Glamorgan didn't want to lose him again not the worse as as a squad player.Thomas extended his contract. 7 Dearden Signed as a kid had talent but didn't quite deliver. 8 Lilley for all the stick it you look at the averages he was a useful T20 player for the most part.Mid 20s average great strike rate and until Patel overtook him last game the club's leading 6 hitter in T20s. 9 Rhodes agree baffling signing esp on 3 year contract. 10 Steel felt he deserved more chances. 11 Finan was worth a punt genuinely quick bowler done well in minor Counties and got a contract at Northants after we let him go. Not many I would call duds. The club had a very small budget at the time so the signings were very much the best we could get.Don't forget we reached the knock out stages in the T20 with those players the only time we have achieved that in 15 yeats and but for 2 fielding errors v Notts would have reached finals day. -

No Rehan will be going nowhere while he has a central contract. -

That's where we miss Nico who had an eye for a player and picked up the likes of Patel Scriven Raine Azad and Griffiths who was good for a while.Thomas don't seem capable of signing anyone under the age of 30. -

England under 19 at Grace Road today let's hope it's not another embarrassment and we get at least 800\900..Surely worth going just to meet Jimmy White who will be watching his grandson. -

Claude Henderson told me it was Old players day on Sunday when I asked him on the friday, Kelvin the dressing room attendant told me it was Old players day on when I arrived at the ground but a very poor turnout because it was Father's day.Geoff an elderly autograph collector travelled from.Kenilworth because he was told it was Old players day and that David Billington who played one game v Warwickshire at Hinckley in 1985 was attending.Paul Rogers post simply said it wasn't an official players day which he posted days after the event.Official players day or not you would expect more then 3 to turn up. -

What's not true? I was there only 3 turned up.I seen a post by Paul.Rogers that it wasn't an official old players day but even if that's the case we still have a very poor turnout for these events compared to other other sides.Notts for example get over 80 every year coming from.all over the Country we can't even get local lads like Laurie Potter Tim Mason Les Taylor Ollie Freckingham Russell Cobb etc to attend -
He is until June 30th

Yes but he's still had some good knocks down the order.Remember him winning us a game by hitting a 6'off the last ball think it was against Yorkshire. -

He's had a few good knocks over the years.Worth remembering a quick 20\30:is a good effort in a T20. -

One huge negative from yesterday and highly embarrassing for the club.It was old players day and out of 55 invites only 3 turned up Barry Duddleston Tim Boon and Peter Willey.Sad and baffling that the club has such a bad relationship with former players. -

Word around the ground yesterday that Cox will be leaving at the end of the season.Understand the relationship between Cox and Thomas hasn't been mended since Thomas criticised Cox on RL for scoring too slowly In a T20 match this season. -

Really is my pet hate when they make such basic mistakes. With Wimbledon coming up we have 2 weeks of that clown Andrew Castle to look forward to. -

Wonder Why he's retiring?Would have thought he could easily have at least a couple more years esp at. Div 2 level.
