  1. This thread is great. I was mascot for Derby away when Peter Taylor was in charge and all my family wanted photos with the new record signing Akinbiyi. We lost 2-0. Getting relegated at Charlton in 2004 and Di Canio losing his sh*t because we were singing ‘**** off Di Canio’. He may have thrown his bib on the ground or I might have imagined that. Getting home from school and watching pre-match press conferences in full on player. Mandaric used the word ‘stability’ every time there was a conference introducing a new manager. On family holidays to France we used to try and see the local team in a match. When I was 13 or 14 there was a pretty impressive young centre midfielder and I wrote to Leicester with a scouting report. They wrote back saying they were going to take a look at him. I later found out he was 36.😂 I live in London and I started seeing a bloke on my road recently, and I couldn’t work out why I recognised him. The third time I saw him I realised it was Elvis bloody Hammond. One day I’ll speak to him.
  2. I never post on here, but I just wanted to say what a comforting thread this has been. Before the weekend started, I fully expected to take advantage of the clocks going back and get loads of sleep, but instead last night I just kept waking up and refreshing this page, reading the messages coming in. There are ways of processing a tragedy like this, and I'm sure this thread has helped hundreds of Leicester fans get through today. I don't personally know too many Leicester fans because I'm based in London, and I wish I could be at the stadium right now, so this forum has helped a lot. It's going to take the whole club (players, staff and fans) a long time to recover from this, so the community feeling of LCFC is going to be important more than ever. And whilst Vichai's family, including Top, start the long and difficult journey of grieving, I know that our fans, and the wider footballing community will help them through it. If you do want to speak to someone about how this has affected you, the Samaritans is a 24/7 free service for those who need emotional support, and their number is 116 123 (freephone). People often assume you need to be suicidal to ring the line, but you don't, and this is a perfectly good reason to ring them up. Finally, here's a picture taken at one of the last games of last season. I think it was the first of two lap of honours. Not many fans had stayed, but Vichai was there, throwing free toys to the fans. He may only have been at the club for 8 years, but he turned us into 'the fairytale club' (an earlier poster called us this, and it's stuck with me!).
