It feels like the club want to do do a big reveal. RVN has a huge global reputation, we are probably being pretty coy, link it to the press so that everyone knows about it but the actual reveal being at a game… well that brings an audience and some huge positive PR… that video of him walking out would hit globally and this would be good for our brand.
Or am I giving us too much credit?
Too much credit

That's a sensible move from him.
Not jump ship too soon into the PL.
He’s useless
He won’t last beyond one season

It’s definitely the right decision and credit for the board getting rid of him without further delay.
I didn’t want Cooper but thought he might force enough wins and keep us in with a shout of survival but the game plan and tactics were only going one way downwards.
I’m not that taken with any of the names mentioned
• always wanted Potter but not so sure now
• RVN surely that’s a risk….he hasn’t done much but would relish the opportunity
He would be like appointing Rooney surely in comparable terms ?
• Moyes is boring but I guess would be the choice to try and stay in the league
• never fancied Corberian
• Southgate depresses me
So I’m delighted he’s gone but do we have enough good players and with the right coaching and set up to compete….as so far we’ve been very fortunate with our 10 pts
Then I think we have played some ok attacking football and scored goals and I think Cooper did have the ability to achieve that side of it.
Am I talking sense or gibberish !

Not sure which it will be, but given our run, we may as well sack him now. I can see many points from our fixtures.
It’s there’s a positive
Look at other Coopers who’ve been successful
…….Henry Cooper…..Tommy Cooper….Alice Cooper……Mini Cooper…..the list goes on…
so Steve may still make that list ?

we have lost 2 in the last 6 prem games. It’s not been great, but we would look pretty stupid sacking a manager now. everyone keeps saying papering over the cracks, but they keep going to the end. squad is not great either, but this season is all about results
I think I agree with you
Its absolutely about results and wining the league of the bottom 4.
The point today is massive as it stopped 3pts for Ipswich and didn’t allow them close the gap.
Its going to be ugly but I do feel he can still get results

Conceding too many sloppy soft goals. Can't see that changing. We were lucky against Southampton and Bournemouth. Got found out by Forest. Don't see anything but an Ipswich win I'm afraid.
spot on

really not confident about this one especially after our performance against Forrest.
It’s the defence and shape of the team that worries me and think Ipswich will find a way to win.
I’ve been supportive of Cooper only because I believe he will get results on occasions and clinging to the hope that he will get us 4th bottom end of season but lose tomorrow and I think I’ll join the get rid of him contingent.
A win though and I’ll be giving him utmost respect.
🙏🙏🙏 Please God

Nope. This a must win game. Any other result will be a disaster. Southampton, Everton, Palace and Wolves play against each other the same day.
Disagree……no chance of winning this and will likely lose so a draw is our best option.
Ipswich will open up our defence.
i get your point about the other matches but a draw will do wonders for moral after losing to Forrest.
If we lose the rot has set in and end is nigh.

Wonder if we'd consider Carlos Corberan again?
I doubt he’ll ever get a team promoted from Championship.
For that reason he is a worry.
He’s a top 6 finisher but to cut it you need to be getting promotion in my view

It's up to him whether it's a waste or not. As long as he's passionate and enjoys this sort of analysis then it's not a waste.
You could make the argument that anything football related is a waste, it just depends on your perspective.
a good analysis….just a bit brief and short of detail 🤩

Not worried. It's going to be a 2-2 or 3-2. I also don't think Ipswich will go down eventually. There are worse teams out there.
You were spot on with that

He is likeable he just makes continual baffling decisions in terms of team selection ,subs etc
He got away with it by getting closer to the team that 99% of us would have picked from the start on Saturday.
He seriously needs to up his game because we are not fully pulling our weight irrespective of our position with the poor decisions he's making.
Continued goals conceded down the right yet Ricky has not had 1 minute of Premier League game time so far - absolutely incredible incompetence
What are you going on about
The blokes done well so far
He’s been persecuted by forum fans
He’s got us scoring goals
I accept we concede early but blimey he manages to turn it around and we’re getting results so it’s not all bad 😀

I think it’s fair to say that no one was impressed with his appointment and he’s been regularly lambasted on these forums.
I didn’t want him but was confident he will keep us up although we may well drop into relegation zone at some stage as other teams find form and we have a dip but I’ve always thought he has passion and can motivate this team to survive this season.
Whilst it’s frustrating to be going 1 or 2 nil down in games the ability to come back and salvage something is credit to Cooper and the players.
I don’t care if he is tactically poor as long as we’re competing and scoring goals then we have a good chance of staying in the Prem this season and all I want is 4th from bottom.
Its not perfect but I doubt Enzo would have as many points and Brenda definitely not,
so surely we’ve got to be giving Cooper some praise and encouragement.

When did he say he thinks we're far worse than we are or even make that suggestion?? That is absolute rubbish....you've made that up mate I'm afraid.
As for tactically poor and makes poor in game decisions....yeah sometimes but then what manager always gets it right? Seemed to get it right yesterday with 3 points secured.
I agree with you.
I think Cooper is getting slated on this forum and much of it makes sense but let’s look at where we are.
We’ve scored goals and not been thrashed yet so he’s keeping us in games.
Our aim this season is 4th from bottom and survival then we can get rid of him.
I think he’ll keep us up by skin of his teeth

Ayew has been utterly shit so far, even today all he did was kill attacks.
we've not been thrashed by luck, not tactics. we're creating less than any other team in the division, we're giving up more than any team besides Ipswich, who've already played Liverpool and Man city. we should have been absolutely pumped at arsenal but for a generational performance from Hermansen.
we're not going to top that mini league come May under Cooper, we'll finish bottom two
That’s negative talk Doc…..but maybe accurate diagnosis with MRI scanner.
i only mention Ayew…..as I went on their forum when we bought him and all their comments were disappointment as he was a utility player than won fouls and would be a loss to their team.
look where they are now ?

It is absolutely incredible... I don't understand what anyone sees as a positive about him.
The positive is that he wanted the job and to prove himself when no one else was interested.
In every game we have scored goals and not be thrashed so far.
He wan’t my choice and was gobsmacked when he was appointed but reckon he’ll keep us out the bottom three come end of season.
Sure we’ll probably drop into relegation but I believe he’ll have the team fighting and playing for him and all we want this season is survival.

a win despite Cooper's best attempts, if we want to stay up he has to go sharpish, and take Ayew, Eduoard and BdCR with him. The game management was awful, the subs were all wrong or too late. in reality, it'll be like when we smashed Cooper's forest side, buying enough time to ensure that a new manager can't turn it around
Rubbish talk
Ayew was well respected by Palace fans who thought him reliable hardworking and valuable team member.
we’ve scored goals this season and no one has thrashed us and were hanging on 2-2 at Arsenal.
I agree Cooper was no one’s choice but I think he’ll scrape enough ugly lucky wins and draws to keep us up.
Currently we’re as good as / better than Wolves Everton Palace Ipswich and Soton……
so that is our mini league to be top off surely ?
