Pretty sure Ben Marshall was the terrible culture!
I’m not cherry picking moments out like you have. That situation wasn’t Pearson’s best moment of course.
I am talking overall, the health of the club. The stuff behind the scenes, sports science, scouting, players playing for the shirt. You’ll always be able to pick out one or two like you have but Wes Morgan? James? Drinkwater? Vardy? Huth? Kante and Fuchs were Pearson/Walsh signings.
The club was in such good health then. My point was how everything has deteriorated since they left.
To add to this, when we’d go a goal down it didn’t really matter as we knew we’d come back and have a go. Going a goal down didn’t mean the crowd would turn like they have the past few seasons, which I’ll add has been merited.

14 miles for myself today. Felt the last couple of miles, but glad to get the miles in.

The atmosphere in the Etihad tonight is dreadful.

Over the past 10 years I’ve definitely seen more Leicester shirts on my travels.
I wonder if that will drop off now
It will and already has I’ve found. Living behind enemy lines, I’d often see Leicester shirts until the last year or so.
It’s all Coventry round here now, which makes me smile as their “boycott” must have included not wearing their shirts as well as not going to games.

I've never bought into Gait analysis, that's for sure. Modern science and thinking says its a load of shit for starters, especially done by shoe shops rather than professionals (though I would trust the team at Leicester Running Shop). A better thing would be running style analysis, but doesn't exist in the truest sense of the word.
Correcting 'style' and form is also proving to be mainly a bad idea. You run how you run, changing it often leads to issues elsewhere.
Running shoes basically try them, make sure they are comfortable, see if they are right for you in terms of whether you run with a heel strike, mid-foot strike or forefoot-strike.
Just my opinion though.
I don’t think I had gait analysis myself. A lad at a sports shop in Warwick did a few checks and figured out I have over pronation and got me to try a few pairs on.
Is gait analysis paid for and quite extensive?
I agree with the try them and feel. The shop I went to encouraged trying them on a treadmill for the first few runs as if they’re not suitable they’re happy to replace them for another pair. I feel as though I’ve found my shoe though and I’m now too scared to change

Yeah, good point.
It's not something I've ever considered to be honest...been running daily for nearly 15 years and I have no idea what my 'style' is. Never bothered with a gait analysis or anything like that, but it's definitely something I'd consider if I was picking up a lot of injuries.
If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it - absolutely!

With regards to shoe recommendations, isn’t important to get the right ones based on running style? I’d be worried about buying a shoe with good reviews / recommendations that would end up being no good for my style.

It is a foul, but how about Rice with his arms around the west ham players waist? Haha
Pretty sure Odegaard was bear hugging someone too

Had a go at a 5k PB yesterday, which I beat by 2 seconds (22:18). Annoying because I set my watch for a warm up then 3 miles flat out. I forgot to do the additional .1 miles, so it factored some of my warmup pace for the 5k.
Heart rate absolutely rocketed at the end too, which concerned me. Felt fine or as fine as I expected to feel after that kind of effort.

Just started the couch to 5k......Jo whiley going on in my ear how well im doing....not realising im out of breath red in the face and my lungs are trying to escape from my body.....tell me it gets easier.....
It gets easier, but you’ll probably want to keep pushing yourself which is no bad thing.
As an example -I started running last year. In Feb 2025 I ran just shy of a 5k at 10:30min/mi pace. My max heart rate during this was 195bpm with my average 182bpm.
This morning I ran just shy of 10k at about 9:30min/mi pace with my average heart rate being 160bpm. It felt very easy and enjoyable.
Stick with it, you’ll eventually start feeling better and enjoying it!

Opted to watch Peppa Pig instead. 716 for anyone with Virgin Media - “Playgroup Star”.

Not only are we shit, we’re absolutely awful to watch. Every single player looks like they’re out of position. Second to almost everything.

I did a Garmin plan just for me so not an organised event. I just put in that I was aiming to do a sub 2 hour HM and it tailored it. There seemed to be a lot of easy runs towards the end but tbf the plan worked.
Good stuff! Yeah, the easy / long runs are so important for half marathon training. I sometimes run them too hard, which I need to get better at.

Arse end of nowhere today in the Shakespeare half and saw a few people ditching energy gel wrappers at the side of the road, purposefully. Nowhere near a bin or hydration station. Really pissed me off.

Cheers guys. Yeah maybe I’ll go for a marathon later in the year.
Did you do an organised event? How did you find the garmin plan? I followed one myself last year and found it’d almost always switch out my speed work for easy runs because it thought I needed more time to recover. Since switched to Runna but looking to get one of the AI services to create a 10 week plan worth of .FIT files to save a few quid.

Doesn’t sound like you fancy it but it’s doable. Una, sounds like you smashed it mate well done, if you were aiming to run a marathon you wouldn’t be going at it as hard and would have been putting in decent distances in training.
Get involved 😂
That’s true. I probably will look to do a marathon next year but today is not the day to think about it

I’ve been following a Garmin training plan to do a sub 2 hour half marathon for the last 12 weeks. Only done that distance once before and that took about 2 hours 20 mins. Just completed it today in 1:51:31. Pretty pleased with that and makes me realise how tough a marathon is. Good luck to everyone today!
Well done! Just finished a half myself and my first thought was “marathon, **** that”. Fair play to everyone getting it done today.
