I’d have him at Newcastle as I think he fits exactly what we need…
Young, ability to grow/improve, can create a goal out of nothing (something we severely lack), wouldn’t demand huge wages, also likely to be very cheap in comparison to his value if you go down.
A bit of an opportunist buy, like Barnes was.
Barnes was a great signing. Had we stayed up, he wouldn’t have left. Fatawu certainly has a higher ceiling than Barnes.

I found the Danny Ward chants an absolute disgrace if I’m honest. Not only was that man vilified by likely the same set of people whilst he was here, what does that do for the confidence of Stolarcyzk? It’s really poor. We have some really thick, fickle fans.
Seen half a scuffle in the concourse at half time and two blokes having heated words at the end of the game.

Where do people order their kits from? I usually use Jersey4fans which is really good. But they don’t seem to have the blue England GK kit for the World Cup at the minute and that’s the one the boy is after the most.

But we promote, so I don't think they could bring themselves to present that argument.
But again this boils down to a lack of accountability from the people that are the ones supposed to be made accountable.

I feel for Rowett. In a normal season, you easily win 2 of those previous 3 games, if not all 3.
The overall play is so much better. But he hasn't been able to cut out the bozo moments, like missing penalties or switching off at set pieces defensively that's costing us dearly.
Hopefully he sticks with the set up of Ayew playing behind a striker, as we have to take some risks now, it's his best position and Mukasa's returns have dropped off. James is also better in central midfield.
So that means Ayew starting with Daka, as well as James coming in for Winks (obvious) and Jannik for Okoli (to help with defensive organisation and passing).
I pretty much fully agree with this. We’ve probably done enough in chances over the last 2 games to win 4. It’s the brain dead stuff that’s really hurting us. We’ve switched off at two set pieces over the weekend which have both ultimately lead to us conceding and having backs against the wall, even more so when you consider our frailty when conceding.
Unfortunately I think the word is that JJ is a doubt for Saturday. Every single game is must win. We are currently very lucky that we aren’t miles adrift, because of how poor other teams around us are.

I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if one of their arguments is that a points deduction could seriously harm the future of the clubs existence.

We’ll have Ajaz to come in as well won’t we?

That Prem season has completely deflated us. We were awful. Even compared to Burnley, Wolves and the Hammers/Spurs this time around, we'd have done a Saints and probably surpassed the lowest total. That's what we fear going up again, that somehow a lot of these players will be required to 'represent' us in the Premier and we've not bought well.
You're right about the quality you possess, which makes it all the more difficult to really understand why you're struggling. We've got no-one I'd see in your starting line-up, yet perversely we play as a team. Take McAteer yesterday. The groans when he was announced were audible, yet he played a blinder. Not £12 million's worth of a blinder but he looked a lot better than he has recently. I'd be after Fatawu and JJ from you if we do go up. Top quality and we need better in midfield. I know JJ's on loan but the owning club can't fancy him.
We've torn up our previous Championship promotion team and kept a lot of the players who failed so miserably in the Premier League and it's sort of worked. I do think a lot of that is on McKenna, yet some of our fans think he's come to the end of his ability and wouldn't mind a change of manager!
On his day, Fatawu starts most weeks in the prem for most teams apart from “the big 5”
and Villa. Even if we stay up I would be very surprised to see JJ stay with us, unless the terms of his loan deal is mandatory. We’ve missed him big time whilst he’s been injured.
We were absolutely rubbing our hands and laughing our heads off at £12m for McAteer. A likeable lad with a fantastic work rate, but again someone that was living off a purple patch in 23/24.

What's the story with the appeals from both sides? It's all gone very quiet.
Part of me thinks the numptys in charge are hopeful this will be rescinded and that's what keeps us up.
Oh they’re hopeful of course, they wouldn’t have appealed it otherwise.

yeah, watched you draw 1-1 with us at PR a few weeks ago. Fully justified draw with neither of us playing that well enough to win it. Also saw the three you nabbed against us at KP earlier in the season. That was a depressing, Keystone Cops calamity of an away performance.
We're currently second. You'd never believe that if you saw us. That's what I mean. Quality gets you a bit of a cheat code in this league. That and luck. You were all over Wednesday yesterday and should've won 5-1. Keep going with that mindset and you'll be fine.
Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda.
We also should’ve beat Preston on Friday - similar amount of shots, 4x the amount of shots on target compared to them. A big problem for these players is the moment we concede a goal they look absolutely clueless, the panic instantly sets in.
The mindset is exactly what’s wrong with a lot of our players at this club. They’re on big money, most of them have massive experience of playing in the top flight. They think they’re above it and the biggest problem of it all is that they’ve not got the heart for the battle, the nitty gritty.
Yesterday we had players starting for us that have won the FA Cup, played in a champions league final, played in a European semi final. Players that have won this division just 2 years ago, and didn’t just win it absolutely walked it and played most of the games at around 65%. At the start of the season you look at teams on paper and there isn’t many players from the top 6 sides you would’ve thought would get in our side.
You full well know that come the start of this summer a number of these players will be moving on, either abroad at a higher level or in the case of maybe 1/2 back to the prem. There’s a lot of them that simply don’t care enough.
I can’t half blame Ayew for doing this, but as soon as the final whistle went yesterday he took his shirt straight off and walked down the tunnel. Of course his performances haven’t been acceptable and I think sometimes the criticism has been a bit ott - but that’s the stuff we are dealing with. And it’s not just been this season things haven’t been right since 2023.
We were lucky in the sense that getting relegated first time around the players we had were simply too good as well as unearthing Hermansen and Fatawu - and that’s what got us through a lot of games, along with one of the best managers we’ve had.
It’s a sad state of affairs that 10 years to the day of the greatest achievement football has arguably ever seen, could see us hit our lowest ever point in football.
Ultimately, if we go down the 6 points we’ve been deducted will be the decisive factor and that solely will lie on the people that are running the club. Of course the players should and could do better, we should never be in this position with a points deduction.

It’s all about ifs. Personally I can’t see Portsmouth getting more than 4 more points. Oxford 7 sadly Leicester 4.
I have been saying for weeks it’s Oxford that are for me the more likely to get out of it.
Yeah but 3 of them points for Portsmouth will probably come against us.

I keep flip flopping between this and thinking he's yet another who just needs to get out of here and join a football club again.
Reeks of Antalyaspor.
Yep agree. I’ve said it before, he’s the player I expected we had signed - this season, rather than that first season with us which I think he’s still living off. I will say I don’t think it’s not from the want of trying with him. His confidence is shattered and he’s becoming too predictable to defend against.

It absolutely boils my piss when people justify clapping the players off, after a performance like the last two, as being a real fan ….no you are not you are complicit and enabling of the massive drop off in standards and culture at the club and the level of acceptance of our demise.
if you are a real fan then this current situation and our potential fall into league one and financial meltdown should be making you angry, sad, worried and extremely frustrated, not happily clapping this muck week in week out
Yep totally agree. The players will see that and think oh sound. There’s a woman at home games and every single time she gets her scarf out lays it on the advertising boards and whether it’s 5-0 or 0-5 you can bet your life she’ll be there blowing smoke up their asses. I just don’t get it. Majority of them do not care about me, you or anyone else in that ground.

Yep, had the same in front of us yesterday. Even my VERY placid and shy lad wanted to punch him.
Block WU row 20 seats around 98-103. Group of lads, 1 in particular being a gobby twat who thought he knew it all and every second word being C**t
If you are on here then there is a reason the 4 people in front of you didn't reappear for the 2nd half, the female of them looking very uncomfortable and nervy around you and your gob.
I'm all for vocal stuff going on to reflect the play and/or players and we are entitled to be knob-heads at times but he abused that privilege to the extreme and just embarrassed himself and others with him for 90 mins.
I was a bit lower down row 8 seat 55. I’m as vocal as anyone during games but the language and some of the comments were ridiculous and most of the time right down my ear. My lad will certainly have a new vocabulary
Would never moan to anyone about swearing at the football it’s part and parcel of it. Was talking to the bloke next to me he even said himself “he’s never played the game” mental.

On a completely different note, the bloke behind me yesterday
I’ve never wanted to punch someone so much in all my life. We really have some moronic fans. This guy d clearly never even played at amateur level but was offering up all the solutions. Took me everything I had to keep my mouth shut.

Once again I asked someone that was clapping why they were clapping them off. “I’m a real fan” was the response given. I said “oh right, do you get clapped off at work after having a bad day at the office?”
Suprisingly, said person didn’t know what to say.

First half was dire. Second half we upped the tempo and really should’ve won. Their keeper has made 3 world class saves, we’ve hit the post the bar. You could just tell after Ricardo didn’t score that it wasn’t going to be our day. This game isn’t going to define our season.
The poor board room decisions, chucking away half time leads against Middlesbrough (against 10 men when they equalised) Wrexham, Portsmouth, Bristol City, Southampton, Ipswich. Self capitulating with consistently brain dead decisions.
The whole season from September onwards has been a complete mess. We are lucky that fate is somewhat still in our own hands, but the hope is dwindling and dwindling fast.

Amount of times Preston obviously pushed players and pulled shirts and the ref just didn’t care - was incredible.
the ‘DOGSO’ incident is tough for the ref, if he stops and gives a Red, then the crowd goes mental that Skipp isn’t allowed to run in on goal.
And can it really be a DOGSO given Skipp does go on to have a goal scoring opportunity?
having said that, if the guy lets Daka go, we’ve got Daka and Skipp vs Iversen and it’s a tap in situation.
so feels like the ruling was correct but still feel hard done by somehow
Well yeah because Daka was otherwise in wasn’t he.

Was it a clear red ?
Of course it would have helped but here’s the factors that are taken into account
DENYING A GOAL OR AN OBVIOUS GOAL-SCORING OPPORTUNITY (DOGSO)
The following must be considered:- distance between the offence and the goal
- general direction of the play
- likelihood of keeping or gaining control of the ball
- location and number of defenders
Yet when Okoli gets sent off, their lad is 20/25 yards behind where Daka was.

Time to see what they’re really made of - but I know what I’m expecting.
Part of me is wondering that the club were confident of getting points and it had filtered down to the players.
