So wait until the bright lights of the Premier League to blood him? Nah, get him in. We cannot espouse youth and then not play them, its madness.

BEK is only a year older than Alves. In light of Alves pulling up zero trees at Cardiff, having him and Monga as backups to BEK would give them experience, but relying on them at this point in their career in a league as unforgiving as the Championship would make promotion massively unlikely.

I personally don't like those arrangements even though they do make sound business sense.

I resent the idea that a player contributes to our relegation, then buggers off for a year while we work to get back up, only to return for the glory bit again.

Again, I know it makes sense and my opinion on it is a clear case of emotion getting in the way of good business but 8t just doesn't sit right with me.

I don't see how this works for us at all. If he goes, then our midfield hub of dynamism and creativity is Winks, Skipps, Soumare and Hamza which makes me feel a bit sick and pining for the days of Williams/Hughes and Tiatto.

I personally think he goes to Charlotte FC next.

They're managed by Dean Smith, Fuchs is his assistant and their number 9 shirt is currently unoccupied...

I can't profess to be an insider but was in the local cafe in Great Glen this morning and the owner seemed pretty bullish that he was off to the States according to JV's eldest daughter.

  4. I've felt this way ever since we won the FA Cup and the Prem. Everything afterwards for me just seems like the biggest anti-climax.

Following City from the mid 70s, what MON achieved at the club felt at the time like the pinnacle of whatever we could achieve...and yet through Vichai's dream, we lived the dream that seemed ridiculous.

Allied to VAR, ticket prices, food prices, FFP, poor refereeing, compulsory 'is this a library' chanting as if it's razor sharp wit, a massive disconnect between the club and the fans, players who don't give a shit....I struggle to get that hunger I had for the game when I was younger. Might just be an age thing.

In summary, 8 years ago it felt like having a three way at the Ritz with Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell. Now it feels like fingering Natalie Cassidy behind Pork Pie Library.

What other premier league team would he start regularly apart from us? There’s your answer.

    100%.

Going to matches last season, the question for me was who in the squad was genuine Premier League quality, and for me anyway, it was only KDH, Mads and potentially Fatuwu - the rest have either already proved they aren't good enough or just aren't good enough. We haven't been able to strengthen as much as we'd wanted to, and this is where we are.

I'm no Cooper fan by any stretch, but whoever is in charge is dealing with a severely limited hand.

  6. This was always coming, I can't believe anyone truly looked at our squad last year and thought we'd be OK in the Prem with that personnel??

Jury out on Mads but only because he's yet to play at this level

None of the defence are premiership quality with the possible exception of a fit and healthy Ricky.

Midfield now that KDH has gone is completely bereft. Winks shone at Championship level because that's his level. There's a reason he got turfed out of Spurs and that's cos he's not Prem quality.

Jury out on the wingers, Mavididi was a downgrade on Barnes, and you get the feeling with Fatawu that his constant run inside and shoot manoeuvre will be easily negated by Prem defenders.

Which then leaves us with Daka, an ageing and injury prone Vardy and Cannon.

Okoli appears to make Brian Carey and Nicky Mohan look like prime Baresi.

It can't be any shock surely!!!

  7. Haha, spectacularly overrated, goes missing frequently when the heat turns up, famously tried to engineer a move away from Leeds which helped to derail the start of their season.

Ugh, under no circumstances, bar us being demoted to League 2.

  8. The greatest player ever to play for my team. My personal hope is he bags himself a nice Saudi payday and leaves us with a lifetime of unbelievable memories. I wouldn't like to see him reduced to being a (very expensive) bench cheerleader next year, he deserves way more than that.
