  1. Katowice is one of my favourite cities in Poland...
  2. Potting around the house whilst on annual leave, with nothing else to do, so decided to bake mince pies. First effort ever. Absolutely smashed the pastry, only for it to get stuck in the baking tray.🤬
  3. Does that happen to be near Leeds Bradford Airport? Flew from there a few weeks back, and the name rings a bell.
  4. Been a number of times, but mostly on my own. Last went with my wife about 13 years ago. Beautiful city, but I recommend going in the warmer months (June was ideal, but still can be on the hot side). Auschwitz and Wieliczka are both worth visiting. You've also Schindler's factory, which is now a museum. Kazimierz, the Jewish quarter, is lovely to walk around. There are places where you do have to be careful in regards to nightlife, but plenty of bars and restaurants. Prices in Poland have definitely gone up over the last few years, but still cheaper than here.
  5. And have you read it? It reads like it was written by a 7-year-old. And this is the former Under-Secretary of State for Education.
  6. That plane that veered off the runway at Leeds Bradford the other day was the exact same plane that flew me to Mallorca last week.
  7. Absolutely brilliant to see PiS get a kick-in.
  8. My dad was due to land there around 23:30, but has been diverted to Stansted. Still on the plane now, awaiting news of a bus from Stansted to Luton which has absolutely no chance of coming. Have booked him on a train home instead.
  9. We stayed close to Ulcinj a few years ago, on the edge of Velika Plaza (Long Beach). Right close to the Albanian border. There was talk they were expecting mass redevelopment there in the coming years to appeal to tourists, but looks like it hasn't really happened. Ulcinj itself is a nice little town. Very close to Lake Skadar, around which the views are absolutely phenomenal. A two-hour drive from Podgorica Airport, but I could quite easily have stayed on the coach for another hour, looking out of the window. We didn't, but I think you could also do trips across into the Albanian town of Shkoder quite easily.
