  1. 270 mins in a week - I haven’t got a clue what he is trying to do - nobody is inverted - the full backs heat maps confuse me - 2 holding mids that don’t get into the final 3rd - a 10 that doesn’t create - wingers that have been absolutely pocketed for 250 of those mins - a striker that can’t run and nobody running past him - and absolutely nobody who knows where the net is - bizarre tactics to win any game at any level -no death by possession - no real style of build up play - looks like a complete hit and hope to me -concerning is a monumental understatement

£30m + is an INSANE amount of money for a non goalscoring 10 who is an 8 but hasn't really played as an 8, who Palace are 100% going to use as that Eze inside left 10.

This obviously significantly weakens in terms of flair / general creative play but let's not pretend his numbers are in any way decent because they're not.

We need players that can find the goal and BEK isn't one of them.

I agree - ridiculous money for a bang average footballer - massively overrated

We look more like Luton than Sheffield United. Three crap performances against bad sides.

This is a classic 'my expectations were low but holy shit'.

Bang on - red flags everywhere- we are bang in trouble and not sure where we go from here - we have been so awful - I’d love to believe the gaffer can see what we see and that he is actively doing something about it but does he even have the power to stop the rot that has set in - im watching bek and fatawu who both supposedly are worth 30m plus and they have been just as bad as the rest of them - even the bright lights we thought just might make this season fun again are struggling at a level that let’s be honest is average at best -  it’s like the sole has been sucked out the club and all of us - there is no patience with the players because we are all so bored of things being cr*p and seeing how our club is falling apart - it’s proper sole destroying isn’t it

  4. I wonder if we are pretty much at the point where starting the youth and potentially still losing some games gets him more good will than continuing to play the players we can’t stand

If the more experienced absolute chancers can’t win games at this level - the likes of

Justin , hamza, Thomas , vesty , Okoli , soumare , faes , skipp , winks etc etc

would he get more of the fans completely behind him and ultimately the team if he just banished them all and started

Monga, Nelson , aluko, alves , page , evans etc etc and get 4 young loan players in

We might be worse - it’s definitely a possibility- although who knows as the current lot are absolutely cr*ap anyway and would the results dictate the feelings or would seeing a young team instead of the swap scum unite the fan base ?

would he instantly get the fans behind him and the team - I think it would be brave but can’t see it

Least of our problems at present, with a midfield of Soumare and Skipp being played.

Nah he definitely isn’t the least - him and hamza are pretty close to being as bad as soumare and skipp - not a lot in it

its not a last night issue mate tbh. years of rudkin handing out contracts to bang average players that are grossly overpaid for their actual contribution to the team. luke, along with a few others, falls well into that category

I don’t even understand how Luke Thomas still plays for us - we have shipped him out numerous times on loan and  he didn’t get in championship teams at shef or midd - and yet he is still here and hasn’t been able to be sold -that’s because nobody wants him and he must be on a 10 year contract or something which is mental - the fact he seems to be first choice left back is an absolute disgrace- he might not be the biggest problem but all that shows is just how big the problems we have are

Did enough at Cardiff last season that as an impact player out wide would be of use to us.

That’s scraping the proverbial barrel ric and you know it - him and Nelson hugely failed their auditions- don’t get me wrong the more senior hamza, thomas, mcateer and soumare were as bad if not worse but you can’t find a way to polish those performances no way

let me just finalise the point though - the kids are not the problem in any way - there are a million and 1 problems but the kids aren’t 1 - and everyone should want them to succeed

Another poor showing, and a very concerning one. I know some are quick to state it’s only game two, however, that is a team in a rot, with no confidence, no self belief and no mental resilience.

We’re carrying a squad largely of players who either want away, or have burned their bridges here. This isn’t conducive to a successful team.

This is a squad on the slide in free fall. Unless we can muster up some miracles with the cheque book, it’s likely we will struggle to stay up.

Far too many mistakes in the team, we’re weak through the spine and have no fight.

Superb post - sums the situation up perfectly
