Shame that we've dropped the On Wednesday nights, under the lights song.
Just needs slightly adapting from We'll be in Porto, we'll be in Bruges to We went to Porto, we went to Bruges.
Great reminder and celebration of our Champions League days.
I was rewatching highlights of the CL games yesterday and said how I miss that song. We really need to adapt like this, it's something that shouldn't be forgotten and should be sung at every opportunity

You should move to sk1 permantly then
a lot of people seemed to move up to sk1 tonight cramming the stairs and everyone said they enjoyed the change. Well why not everyone make it perminant and get the KOP rocking again.
Is it as easy as just turning up and standing on the stairs? Are the stewards still turning a blind eye? My usual seat is in G1 which I swear gets quieter every week, so shares the concourse with part of SK1 but I've not been brave enough to try it yet

I guess what will be will be. I love my wife to bits but I keep messing up but which either stems from my depression, or causes my depression (ain't sure which it is). When things are great they are great and she has put up with a lot of rubbish from me (work/money/alcohol) but there is only so much she can take.
Im desperate trying to change things. I've cut the drink out my life which was a big problem but now it's fags and coffee and it's bloody more exspive which doesn't help the money situation. And then I end up lying about money and it just makes things worse
i just wanted to write that down somewheee really....
I adore my other half too. I also love my wine, and probably drink too much of it which doesn't help. I tend to not know when it's best to keep quiet.
He thinks he doesn't help my depression, and I think it's what I'm feeling that is causing our problems. I just don't know how to make it better between us, but at the moment it's rubbish. I feel guilty for putting him through all of this and he feels guilty that he's not really much help, although he tries.
Sorry I have no answers, hopefully someone will be along in a bit though ☺️

Anyone on this thread gone through a marriage break up? Or tying to save their marriage.?
Not a marriage break up but my current 5 year relationship is looking like it's going to be over soon ? We're both trying to salvage it, but ultimately he will never understand how I feel, and I have been pretty hard to live with.

Is it just me or does anyone else find that they need to rewatch seasons again before they can start a new one? I've been really looking forward to Stranger Things 2 but have forgotten so much of the first one, and so I'm watching it again. Maybe it's just my age...

Off to Malta for a week next month, can't wait. It's my 3rd visit in 12 months, absolutely love the place.

Mine is the 1852. I'd like to think that I could take on a year and survive it but having Googled it I see that Smith and Wesson were founded that year, so no, I couldn't take on a gun and win. However the first public toilets for women were also introduced that year, although having visited many over the years I'm probably lucky to have survived some of those too!

Can I ask a really stupid question? How do I add one of the subscription channels to my firestick? I'm more than happy to pay for a decent stream, but have no idea how to go about it.

Absolutely beautiful in Holland right now, had a fantastic time on the theme park with the children and shortly off to the Italian restaurant for dinner. Wish every day could be like this. The only downside will probably be the match later, but we've got Amsterdam and Anne Frank's house to look forward to tomorrow

You’re a top poster on here Crinkly old chap and it’s good to hear that your lad is now doing well

Maybe I should take your advice and look at the appeals process. I’m sure other parents will be and I guess there’s nothing to lose so it’s worth a shot.
Thanks mate
I'm always reluctant to advise anyone to go down the appeal route, purely because I found it a horrible experience. Don't under estimate the strain it will put on the whole family, it completely ruined a whole summer for us, and we still didn't win. Luckily I'd written down every thing I wanted to say, because when it came to the day I just completely fell apart and couldn't speak!
Like you I had to apply online, and theoretically the school had no input. But I badgered the poor head mistress relentlessly, and eventually she said just bring him (my son) in on the first day of school, because she would never turn anyone away. To this day I'm not sure that he was ever officially on the school list, but county hall never got in touch and he's now half way through his A levels. At the end of the day you need to do what's right for all of you, but certainly in my experience badgering is the way forward ☺️

Yeah, she only scored 110/200 and the pass mark is 121. The problem is that because she’s so meticulous, she only completed about 140/200 questions in the allotted time.
So the questions she did complete she got most of them right, but she ran out of time. We kept telling her beforehand to move on if she didn’t know the answer straight away but that message obviously didn’t get through!
You’re right of course that failing the 11+ has no correlation with success at either GCSE or A level but right now she thinks it’s the end of the world

This is probably a stupid question but is it set in stone that the test has to be passed? Are all the grammar schools massively over subscribed? I just wonder if it's worth chatting to the head of the schools and explaining the situation, after all percentage wise she did really well.

Got up at 4 this morning to drive to Harwich and then get on the ferry to Holland. Really long day but so glad to be away for a week with the children. We're staying at a Euro camp site called Diunrell, we came last year and I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone with children. Theme park and water park on the site, and a beautiful beach nearby. Only about half an hour from Amsterdam and The Hague too.

Binged the first series of Dr Foster yesterday, absolutely loved it.
Absolutely loved it too, but not so much the second series. I'm interested in what you think after the second, having watched them back to back rather than waiting a year...

There is a good few on here -

Leicester Boys are we (taken from a Bochum tune but only club over here to sing)
Ulloa cost a forturne (first in England to sing it I believe)
Looking at that makes me quite sad that we hear so few of those songs. Even the ones we do sing don't seem to really get going, and just fade off after a few lines. At the minute though I'd be happy if we could get anything going, if we could sustain it for longer than a minute at a time

I sometimes drive my car in Europe, and I generally find it ok. Pulling out to overtake on the motorway or a dual carriageway is fine, you usually know what's coming up behind you from your mirrors, and I usually have a quick glance over my shoulder anyway, even here. Pulling out on single carriageways can be a bit more tricky, I have to rely on a passenger to tell me if it's clear! Or just leave a much bigger gap, but that's not always that easy. Not sure I'd want to do it all the time mind, but you get used to it I guess.
