The whole Brexit/GE has caused divisions in the country and in the parties that is deeply set in and wont go away regardless of anything. Its such an unstable situation now that both parties at any point could be having a leadership battle, the DUP deal could fall apart losing the governments majority voting power, another GE could be called, Brexit negotiations could bury the nation or revive it and there doesn't appear to be an end anywhere near in site. The best thing would be for May to step down and an actual strong leader take over and get on with the job rather than spending 90% of their time looking over their shoulder and for Ummana, Clegg and any other c*nt that's been cast aside to form a new party to replace Labour as the main opposition. I've said it before, no matter how well liked he is, Corbyn will never win an election. He doesn't have the range of political views to win over enough staunch Tory seats. Unless both things happen, I can only see the shitstorm getting worse.

If the question is 'Do you want Benn vs Collins III?' The answer would be no. Having said that, now it's happening i'll be all over that shit. Collins was brilliant on 5Live this morning talking about it. 'So how will the fight go then Steve?' 'I'll knock him out again' Gwon.

Because Corbyn (as well as he's done) will always turn off large parts of the electorate and as its virtually impossible to overthrow him for the leadership, he'll be there for the forseeable future. This is probably as good as it would get for him in terms of numbers. The election campaign and subsequent own goals and gaffs from May and the Government truly are on a scale that belong only in satire, yet they were still the largest party by a significant margin and their vote share was ridiculously high. The Tory party could not be any worse than they are right now yet still, Labour couldnt overthrow them. That's basically why i'm so sure.

I didnt think either were particularly good to be honest. Trying to associate the Blair government with anything whilst Corbyn is in charge makes no sense and leaves herself open to massive criticism (although I dont suppose she gives a shit anymore!). You're right about Corbyn though. His questions are always pretty good but the inept way he delivers them combined with the heckling means they're forgotten before May even opens her mouth. Easy to see why they love Bercow so much. It's basically a free reign.

Bit of a mountain out of a molehill Matt. When the PLP were circling on Corbyn, the Daily Politics were basically doing a conga line around the studio. Overall they are pretty balanced over the course of time but whilst they are public funded, they have to try and stay relevant and seizing on fads is a way of doing that. If it were before the election i'd have more of an issue but its not like this would sway voters in 5 years time.

The only problem with that is, we're all assuming that the negotiations will all be about the EU and the UK deal. I'm pretty sure they will have already gotten well underway with talking with other nations about trade deals to plug the gap left by us leaving. On that score they still have the single market as their advantage and i'm sure will lower every barrier possible to make deals happen quickly. As I said in an earlier post, the EU will do all they can to better their position and weaken ours. The best case scenario for them is the negotiations leaving the UK in economic ruin. The endless calls to be patriotic and the 'I have faith in the British people' line I keep hearing from the Brexit team has worn thin. The sentiment is all well and good but there has been no evidence or noises so far from either side to suggest that a positive outcome for us is on the cards. I've no doubt that in the long term it'll be a good thing for us but I dont share the view it'll be a rocky few years. I think it'll be about 20 years before we really start seeing any significant progress as an independent nation.
