  1. Indeed. I just think bringing religion into it (in this case especially) shifts the agenda from what it should be, the protection of vulnerable young people, to yet another, 'not all muslims are bad' debate.
  2. Bad example granted. Replace it with the Boston Priest pedo scandal instead. Main point being is its not an exclusive problem. Its worldwide and it doesnt lie in a specific religion.
  3. The most common factor both in this country and round the world for this type of abuse isnt being muslim, catholic etc. Its men. For some reason, a certain type of man has his wiring all wrong and instead of pursuing a normal sex life, goes down the medieval route of grooming underage, impressionable girls or boys. Background, sense of power, upbringing are all variables that if you examine the problem worldwide, there is not a pattern, apart from, men are at the route. There's a problem somewhere, be it in a muslim community, westminister chamber, the catholic church or the white house (look up pizza gate), men see it in other men and are comfortable enough to engage in coversation. I cant imagine how sick in the head you'd have to be to orchestrate this kind of filth, but for some reason, some men have the disease and act upon it in the most calculated disgusting manner. When I was at school, I remember one of the girls boasting about having a 25 year old boyfriend. One day she was asking the other girls in the class if any of them wanted to go on a triple date with the boyfriend and his mates. That afternoon, he was parked in the bus layby waiting to pick her up and he had two of his mates with him. I distinctly remember saying to a teacher, 'Isnt that a little weird' to which the teacher replied, 'You're just jealous?' Over the next few weeks, rumours were that this girl had a gangbang with the guy and his mates. She seemed to wear that like a badge of honour but she left the school not long after. Maybe i'm wrong and being muslim is the entire problem. But from what i've seen, read and understand about the problem, its really just down to a certain type of perverted man.
  4. Being Muslim, Pakistani or whatever has nothing to do with the crime. Exploitation of young girls or boys for sexual gratification has been going on in all cultures and religions all over the world for centuries. It fits the 'muslims are bastards' train that a lot of people have bought a ticket on, and I suppose whilst the focus is solely on that, nobody will ever look to actually tackle the issue of grooming, sex gangs, traffickers, pedo rings etc. Being muslim has no more bearing on their perversion than being Catholic had on the priests who were noncing for years.
  5. My apps aren't even loading.
  6. I thought they weren't taking any new subscriptions?
  7. Rons was ace back in the day. Having a bloke smoking whilst cutting your hair was always a pleasure.
  8. I'm actually quite nervous to see what happens stream wise on Friday. Living in Cornwall, streaming the games really has been an absolute godsend. If it were all to come to an end, gutted really wouldn't cover it.
  9. My wife works a zero hours contract job at the moment and it is pretty gash. She took it on as it was convenient for the hours she wanted to work around childcare etc which is a great benefit. Problem is as soon as she said that she couldn't do a particular shift, her hours were cut. Then when they put the hours back up, they put her on shifts that she couldn't do because of the child care aspect (which she explained to them fully when she was taken on) so they cut her down again. I've no doubt that it suits many people, but I don't see how a good or bad picture can be painted on the subject. Having spoken to some of her colleagues, even if they were incredibly unhappy at the nature of the contract, if they were asked they would say the opposite through fear of any reprisal. It's such a shame that they exist.
  10. Watch them be Nugent & Beckford.
  11. I'm no fan of Corbyn or Labour but the constant linking of them to Venezuela is just ridiculous. You can like the Glitter Band, hell you could even buy a ticket and go and watch them. But that doesn't mean you approve of shagging 9 yr old Vietnemese boys. If we'd have known what the countries would become, we probably would have left Sadam and Gaddafi alone.
  12. The only 2 strikers that have clicked with Vardy are Nugent and Okazaki. Unless KI works like a dogs body, they wont pair up well.
  13. Cool. I've just signed up to Vader and have to say, so far its excellent.
  14. Does a VPN eliminate this issue?
  15. Thanks but the post was a year old.
  16. I think Shakey will be gone by Christmas and we'll narrowly avoid the drop.
  17. One of the main problems I have when discussing the economic migrant/asylum seeker issue is it's essentially all guess work. Everyone can quote sources and reports on who these people are and their intention, but nobody actually knows so making a judgement is pretty hard. Syria is a really odd situation. Before the shit hit the fan there, it was a pretty affluent place. There were more in terms of rising middle class than falling into poverty so the perception that people are heading here for benefits alone isn't one that particularly rings true. If anything, whilst they are asylum seekers, their skill sets could push them into the economic migrant category as there are many skilled workers in healthcare, science, manufacturing and engineering which were all growth industries there but obviously there lives have disappeared and turned to shit. The bottom line for me is, the UK is a fvcking amazing country. I absolutely love it and can well understand why people are drawn to it rather than countries like Germany, France, Spain or Italy. The people here are just a different class. Yes there's some arseholes but generally, we have the best country in the world. Everyone knows it so everyone wants to live here. Any state benefit they might get is a secondary consideration in my opinion. Firstly people just want to be a part of our country.
  18. Arguably we're one of the biggest economies as we've been a part of the EU and more importantly, the single market. Until there are some actual trade agreements on the table, everybody is just guessing as to how we'll cope and this is the whole issue. By now, over a year since the referendum, there should at the very least be indications from trade areas outside of the single market as to what can be offered to the UK and vice versa. The fact that there hasn't been is the biggest worry. All this side of the bus bullshit that keeps getting re-hashed is purely a distraction tactic.
  19. Even in the unlikely event that Labour were elected, they would be no worse than the Tories in terms of the countries economics. If they were to be elected, their majority would be so small (probably a minority government) that none of their extreme left policy would pass. Again, IF, they were to be elected, it would be for 1 term only for the reason above. They'd be a government that wouldn't be able to govern. The picture that Foxin_mad paints just wouldnt ever happen.
  20. Both sides of this argument are a disgrace. 'It was down to cuts', 'Why did Labour councils do it'." etc etc. Stop trying to catch each other out. There's a 24 storey graveyard because it turns out that the cladding option used was dangerous. Not just at Grenfell but on 181 out of 181 tower blocks up and down the country. At the time, both cladding options were deemed safe but one was cheaper. It matters not about cuts or councils or anything else. In any walk of life in any situation, if you're faced with 2 options of seemingly equal situation, you go for the most economical. There is no conspiracy, no agenda against the poor. The councils all acted on advice from experts. The suppliers of the panels and those that passed them are at fault, nobody else. How it was handled afterwards was and still is pretty shambolic but please, enough with the point scoring.
  21. I think they may be seeing that there is no version of Brexit that doesnt make them look like shit. The way its been described to me with the Hammond option basically has Hammond blaming May leaving himself absolved, then when he steps aside, whoever takes over can be absolved. Then come next election, it'll actually be run on a concrete version of what the country looks like and not guess work. Labour will have no position to argue and the Tories will retain power for another 5 years.
  22. A friend of mine who is well versed in Tory party goings on reckons Hammond will be taking the helm within 6 months as a temporary PM for 2 years until the Brexit negotiations are finished and we leave (or not) the EU. Once that time period is over, he'll step aside and a full leadership contest will take place and a GE will follow.
