Billups, Rozier and Jones arrested for illegal gambling and sports rigging via organised crime with mafia connections. More arrests to follow and the case has global depth.

This is just the tip of the iceberg ladies and gents. It's what most of us knew is happening in major sports. The corruption is huge, these millionaires (players, managers, coaches, agents, owners etc) are criminals. Not only they're making millions for doing nothing but they want more via criminal activity.

The teams/clubs worldwide are also to blame for letting their brand names participate/used in official betting. If I was the owner of our beloved Leicester City I wouldn't allow any betting companies to use the club in any sort of betting activity or just demand 100M for each game the club is used by betting companies. 100M from each of them every week.

Some might say I'm exaggerating but I'm not. Betting has killed thousands, destroyed the lives of millions probably yet it's still allowed by the corrupted governments that know what is happening behind the scenes and these governments are practically collaborating with the mafia.

I'll probably copy/paste this to a few other topics if this is OK with the mods of the forum.

Terry Rozier's salary last season was just under $25m. You'd think NBA players earn enough not to be tempted by these side-hustles. If NBA players are doing it then it must be rife in other sports. Like you say - tip of the iceberg.

Wrexham and Pompey games were crying out for quick balls out from the back and all we got were roll outs to Farce and Lurch.

Most probably under the instruction of the manager.

OAP Begovic and some Spanish guy that has played about 8 games in as many years are not serious options.

Guys he did an interview released at thr weekend about the pressure of the Celtic job for me that was a clear tactic to remind PL clubs he’s still about

He said managing in the EPL was like a holiday compared to managing Celtic. Well those final 2 years with us it certainly seemed like he was on holiday with the way he checked-out mentally.

I think Akibiyi would have been handy in Division One tbf. 12 or so a season in a decent team.

Teams actually created chances for their strikers back when he played. He'd get nothing playing in this team.

He was pretty bad. Indecisive and positioning all over the place. He clearly improved given he went on to play in the Champions League and at the World Cup (although I remember him having a nightmare for Australia in 2006 too) but this is easily as bad as Ward v Wolves, even if David Lowe let him down a bit for the second.

As one of the 14,884 poor sods who witnessed Kalac bumbling around like he was wearing roller skates that night, this has brought back floods of long suppressed trauma. Thanks.
