Derbyshire could well lose their game..

Derbyshire aren't making inroads and have only secured 2 bowling points. Middlesex are being held up by rain and need to take 19 wickets in 5 sessions to win. If both those and ours end up being draws we have a lot of points to play with to ensure promotion.

If we get a draw the best Glamorgan can do is catch up by 6 leaving a 30 point gap with 3 to go.

I hope they are just giving Cox a break and there has been no fall out, he's been brilliant and comes across very well. They have played a lot of cricket. It makes sense as Hanscombe has had a nice break. Maybe Cox then comes back in full throttle for the 50 Over.

51 points on 3rd with 4 games to go is one hell of a cushion.

I like the soft welsh tones of the Glams commentator. The Gloucs guy comes across as knowledgeable albeit a bit pompous but their old commentator was totally biased and sounded like he liked a decent boozy lunch sometimes.

I agree, bat again, rack them up and put them under a lot of pressure. Get Madsen and we win. Gloucs and Northants are under the pump and with Glamorgan going well Derbyshire will have a load of pressure.

Cox or Scriven would have been the much better option and the former keeping Hanscombe fresh for batting. Kimber coming in and giving his wicket away when we'd just lost any time pressure to score runs really isn't great.

Kimber flash driving twice the over after it doesn't matter. Dear me.

Hes not ready to do an all rounder bowling job in Tests over here yet imo but on the sub continent should be a shoe in.

When was the last time they cut the outfield at Derby?

We do have to play Kent twice though and their season is in a mess. If anything, what is happening with Glamorgan, and where we are in this match, the pressure is all on Derbyshire.

Put it aside and concentrate on not losing in the CC and we win the 2nd division. With a fresh and ready to go captain. And our best player back in Holland. Id give Van Beek a rest for a couple of the 50 over matches. Hes played a lot. And everyone's now back fit.

Indeed, it puts more pressure on Derbyshire rather than us. We'll still in reality be able to afford one more calamity like this week and still be on control with only 5 left.
