  1. Idiotic batting here. Totally unnecessary.
  2. Indeed all about heads now Hull, Ahmed and Patel must all be in England T20 contention.
  3. Yorks won't lie down but nice to see Northants get clobbered
  4. World Class death bowling from all 3 of them. Serves Durham right for prepping a pudding.
  5. Notts having a total shocker, 0 from 4. Don't worry about those arrogant fools.
  6. Good crowd in by the looks of things. And Ben Mike's bowling like a diligent Glenn McGrath.
  7. They scored at 2 an over today when they should have easily got a 3rd BP.
  8. Why haven't they gone after the third batting point?
  9. Yes indeed, the blokes an icon as is Andy Roberts to a certain generation. But it's mid April and 10 degrees. There is a reason people don't want to watch cricket all day. It's freezing! The schedule is total madness.
  10. Good display just shame about the forecast. Great catch from Trevaskis early, I've got a feeling he's going to be a really good signing. Also liked the co commentating from Roman Walker yesterday. Sounds like a really decent bloke and knowledgable.
  11. I see another proper bowler coming in. I also see them trying to do a Hill with Swindells - i.e. forget the gloves and concentrate on the batting.
  12. I think the club is very much going in the right direction and the Lions call ups and RA's central contract are an endorsement of that. We are taking young talent and improving it. It would appear that the quiet way Taylor and Thomas are going about things is much better than it was when Nixon was in charge. If they can mould Swindells into a full time middle order batsman and get more out of Sam Evans we have a decent squad. The fall out of that mid season week was bleak but on the coaching front it looks like it's worked itself out really well. Of the three who decided to move on Chris Wright staying is huge. Ackerman leaves a really big hole but Parkinson not so much. They look a tight knit bunch and the trophy should bring on some confidence. I'd be disappointed if we weren't up there in the promotion hunt next year.
  13. If we can convince Chris Wright to stay and he wants it they should offer him a pathway into a player coaching role. Him staying would be a major plus and as a collective they are really going in the right direction. This despite the week from oblivion when Nixon went and players decided to leave. I think we'll only miss Ackerman is CW can be persuaded to stay. Taylor and Thomas need to be given the reigns if they want it as they have really knitted it all together and should take a lot of credit.
  14. I didn't include 2nd division trophies, only ones where a side has come top of the pile.
  15. Agreed One matter we haven't mentioned from Saturday. A bit of Karma for the Lewis McManus affair from 2021.
  16. We have to have about the loudest fan base on the circuit judging by that. It's about time our County was given it's dues. A Leicester born captain, pivotal roles from 3 young academy produced players and England's youngest ever multi-format international emerging this year. And when you dig a little deeper this is the pot list over the last 30 years: Warwickshire 13 Gloucs (all shorter format), Lancs, Essex 8 Hants (all short format), Sussex 7 Leics, Notts (despite the pinching) 6 Durham, Kent, Glamorgan 5 Somerset, Yorks (massive club eh) 4 Middlesex (home of cricket eh), Northants 2 Derbyshire 1 We're one of only 9 counties to win the CC in that time. Northants have only won T20 and Derbyshire last won something 30 years ago. We have more pots that 4 teams that have had Test Match status including the self styled biggest club in the UK. We have the same as Notts despite their behaviour and money. Also plenty more trophies that Somerset who have a far wider reach into the south west. Who'd have thought it!
  17. Good point, they used to be a lot closer. In the early 90's they nearly opened a bar in town together!
