Interesting that this looks like OHL's Womens team will wear King Power on their shirts rather than Star Casino, not sure whether that's anything to do with betting sponsorship rules or down to the sponsor agreement. I'd definitely prefer our kits with King Power back rather than FBS.

I just wanted to pop on and say thank you to everyone in this thread! I've been going through an incredibly tough time over the past 6 months. I've been on FoxesTalk for years and never ventured into the General Chat section but for some reason I did today and I'm so glad I have done. Life is Sh*t! But it's always nice knowing there are people who genuinely care about people. It doesn't matter whether you know them or not. I hope that in time I'm able to give someone else the level of support and advice that others have shared on here. I just wanted people to know that whilst it wasn't written 'to' me, there's a lot that people have said that has resonated, so thank you! I needed it.

Clearly I may be in the minority here but I think he's a great bloke and a decent commentator. I much prefer the RL shows now compared to the 'moan-in' it used to be (although that also might be in part due to the club's successes!). The football forum podcasts are the most downloaded show on BBC Sounds for local radio so clearly they must be doing something right! From the few times I've talked to him either in person or social media he always seems friendly & genuinely interested in talking to you. As others have said, if you try listening to other local commentary stations on a matchday, they're dross in comparison and lack the enthusiasm for the club that clearly all 3 on RL have!

It's a long process! Club started in 2004 and was owned by LCFC but ran externally, after some issues with money and way it was ran around 2008/09, LCFC partially distanced themselves and allowed the women's team to rebuild themselves. Which they have done and now men's club have bought them out.

When was the last game you watched? 😂 The standard is a lot higher than people believe. Especially at Leicester, the standard has always been high.
-
They were a completely separate entity, but played under the same name, there's a whole other thread about the Leicester City Women team which I guess is now (2004-2020) or (pre-professionalisation)
-
Assuming these will both be played behind closed doors, but the opening fixture certainly gives the Foxes a chance of getting off to a good start! Having said that, i've seen quite a few players have moved to other clubs from Leicester but haven't seen Leicester announce any new signings yet?

Heard a rumour the other day that the FA are looking at running the 2019/20 FA Women's Cup as a 8 team 'mini-tournament' prior to the start of the 2020/21 season in September, not sure the logistics as every team will obviously have made changes over the summer but still a chance for Leicester to host Man City (with or without fans!)

Leicester City to give investment boost to their women’s team
ChiefFox replied to LCFC1996's topic in Leicester City Forum
This is really good to hear! The club have been getting more and more involved over a number of years and hopefully will continue to do so! The next step is to get more and more fans at the games! I know it's not for everyone but the quality of football is actually pretty decent! -
Whether it's at the KP or Farley Way, the girls deserve a massive crowd for a cup quarter final! Should be on Sunday 15th March, so keep the date free and spread the word!

"We've been to Wimbledon and Hereford, Carlisle away. Now here comes the Champions League, Leicester's on the way... Leicester's on the way!"
-
I think it's being played as an exhibition match rather than full tempo. The Melton Manager has a girl playing in the RTC at LCFC I believe. As mentioned here also, there's 6 girls away with England, 1 away with Scotland and others absent too so won't be a full strength LCWFC team. Still, an interesting match that I'm looking forward to!

We used to play against them, up until 3 years ago we were in the same league but the fortunes of both clubs have changed somewhat. Leicester City Women Development have this season become Leicester United and are now a completely separate outfit.
-
No, but we have: 1 X England U17 - Lucy Johnson 1 X England U18 - Libby Smith 1 X Scotland U19 - Rachel Brown Plus have signed 3 England U17/18 players this summer with at least one more on the way ?

I think to be fair, we got 'lucky' in the sense that we already play in blue. So we didn't notice/wouldn't complain, when their logo started appearing everywhere. I actually think for the Premier League, we have one of the neatest sponsors on the front of the shirt, because it seems to fit in so well with everything, but that may be because we've been so used to seeing it absolutely everywhere. King Power isn't a company in the UK, so it's difficult to really know the scale of it, but I doubt many Leicester fans would be happy if we had the 'Tesco's Stadium' or something of a similar size. They didn't get everything right here to start with, but we're certainly reaping the rewards now that they took the time to realise what was needed. We have a lot of stuff here which is purely marketing/exposure for the Asian market, we have a Thai academy of footballers who don't appear to be anywhere near breaking into the Leicester Squad, there's a thread on here about the recent celebration of the new King of Thailand that some people had issues with. I guess from our point of view, with the success we've had, we are happy to indulge them in whatever they want to do. Clearly from an OHL point of view, if you've not had the success it can seem like they're just taking over.

Looks like someone has set up a English twitter account for the Club. https://twitter.com/OHLeuvenEN
