  1. Still the three friendlies then. That or the club have contempt for any fan what would be interested if they are playing any game abroad on any camp. We just always come across so unprepared compared to others
  2. Maresca wasn’t far off in his delivery like one of those characters.
  3. The crowds are alien to me - a bit cultural difference to football as we know it. Even more so now the knockout stages have kicked in. Middle class/non-football fans singing along to hydration break karaoke. Appears the majority of long term followers concentrated on the group stages due to the ease of travel. The atmospheres at Canada/South Africa and Germany/Paraguay at times completely void. Even the South Americans appeared to be followed by second/third generation Americans - you can't hear any of the singing you normally associate. Colombia look the only loco's and Mexico playing in Mexico but a lot of journalists on the ground saying great outside the ground but not so good in the ground. Canada have benefitted from having two stadiums which host football first - Seattle has a decent vibe because of it too. The New Jersey Stadium looks terrible - you can't see the sideline because of the stairwell and the dugouts - because the NFL playing area is bearable compatible; they had to extend the playing areas by at least 1.5 metres and it takes them right up to the perimeter. The type of thing in the Champions League which leads to the first six rows of your seats being taken out of use. Symptom of the pricing and a country what delights in events rather than actual activity at the centre of it. Glad we back on three a day as six games a day was meaning 48 minutes of highlights every morning!
  4. I had a good week despite the heat. Tuesday went late before England game. Did well despite the temp Thursday squeezed a run up Anstey lane and down again in the morning Saturday did Loughborough parkrun Sunday got 12k in going around Stocking Farm, Mowmacre Hill, Boggy Fleas and New Parks Got my verve back. On a calorie deficit as im trying to drop weight before doing Manchester Half in October and stop around end of August beginning a training programme
  5. RUDKIN!!!
  6. Depends of which Steve Walsh was pretty much doing that role and the bloke learned diddly squat off The signing of Slimani is a cracking example of Rudkin. Pearson and Walsh went in for him before Kramaric that January window. They backed off the deal when Sporting wanted more £10 million. Said he’s never a £10 million player. Fast forward when LCFC won the league, Walsh has left but the club have never had a bigger pull. Ranieri wanted a physical striker who was an improvement on Ulloa. They went for Deeney, didn’t get him. Rudkin returned back to Slimani, signed him for an obscene record transfer fee at the time. Withstanding the odd goal, we way overpaid for him.
  7. Yep. They’ve built a team totally void of character and personality. You look how they’ve pushed players out to replace them with low intelligence cricketers. You compare that to how gritty the Kiwi’s have been. I’m not his biggest fan but I don’t get quite why Robinson hasn’t been picked over Tongue on this test given he was supposedly fit. There were rumours last night Key is gone and Alec Stewart will be coming in.
  8. Well until the Czechs and Croatia beat you there as part of the main Euros Excelent point made on one of the podcast this week that Scotland have never had a major landmark tournament win like every other home nations (and Ireland) has.
  9. Hes only effective coaching counter attacking football. Might come good at some stage but at PSG, Bayern and Chelsea he was unimpressive when it came to dominating games. Look at Chelsea in the cup final v us compared to a couple of weeks later in the CL final v Man City
  10. Capello 2010 vibes
  11. Given the relative minor gap between the clubs now, and if the club wanted to start doing very simple things to bridge the gap within the fanbase to themselves and to the club, why have they not done a game against Harborough?
  12. Yeah good to see Quorn beginning to get some quality in. Majorly behind them this season with the tough challenge ahead of them.
  13. 2nd July - literally Friday coming. Why it couldn’t be worded like and mentioning that another TV selection is out by or on 31st July
  14. Typical of this England vintage. All that pressure and then throw the ball to Bashir for his pies
  15. I’ve just done a deeper dive into some of the fixture list. There is some parts which are a right mess. But the most obvious is having an international break on an Easter weekend where they have arranged two fixtures on the Friday and the Monday!
