  1. 43 runs. Is that a record? Kimber has gone full bazball
  2. Great for him and the other guys, but our squad will be pretty thin
  3. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/cricket/article-13555061/Leicestershire-Chris-Wright-absence-County-Championship-drugs-test.html This the reason for Wright's absence.
  4. He's the top run scorer in the Blast with a strike rate of 152. That will attract a lot of attention from franchises. He's about to move on to a whole new level of income.
  5. I hope so, they are fine in the other formats, but not really t20 specialists. We could do with a power hitter
  6. Long term appointment even if we get relegated it sounds from that article and there is already mitigation. Better get used to him.
  7. We are one quality bat short of being a good side I think.
  8. Would turn in his grave.
  9. Squad is weaker than 2 years ago without Woakes, Hales and Stokes, while other players being two years older. We had an amazing generation of white ball talent, but there isn't a new generation of players to push into this team. Livingstone is picked but he hasn't scored a run in ages. Even if you look at the Blast, some of the best performers are aging pros like Samit Patel, who you wouldn't consider for England.
  10. Great start, keep the confidence up and go on a run. Hull is going to be a millionaire in a few years. Left-arm quick in t20 is priceless.
  11. Or bits-and-pieces players! I thought Claude was supposed to be in charge of recruitment, not Thomas. In T20, I tend to think you should have quality players in each discipline and one or two all-rounders as quite often you don't have the time to bat much lower than 5 or 6. Especially as the bowling isn't that destructive in the Blast so all it takes is two good innings from quality batters to win you the games.
  12. Another loan from the south-west. Lewis Goldsworthy joined from Somerset
  13. Another great knock from Handscomb, he's shaping up to be one of our best ever overseas signings. Also be great if would could sign Scott Currie permanently
  14. I think you are right. The money will flow in from worldwide TV deals. So you could end up with Oval Royals for example and a worldwide franchise with RR, millions of fans on board and limitless opportunities to sell merchandise. Ticket prices will increase and there will be no control over scheduling (no ECB control) which will be to fit Indian TV schedules. The money and the fanbase is in Indian and that's where all cricket roads lead eventually. Meanwhile I quite liked the low ticket prices for the Hundred for kids (£5) and the convenient scheduling time. It meant I could take my two for a low cost crickotainment game that was a good introduction to sport. However, this will be blown out of the water by this deal and you will have 'cricket tourists' pricing locals out of the games, in much the same way as you get as many people from Oslo at Old Trafford as you get Mancunians. I imagine it will be expanded and take up a bigger part of the summer and the championship will have to run alongside it in the future. It's appalling stewardship of the game from the ECB in my opinion
  15. They have to all stay fit though and Roland-Jones/Helm, generally get injuries for them. Higgins was a fantastic signing, he's consistently good with bat and ball, so worth two players. I can't think of another player in county cricket who pulls up the same numbers with bat and ball. Averaging 112 with the bat and 11 wkts at 29 this season
  16. Tricky selection for tomorrow. Rehan is back, but you can't fault Trevaskis in his absence. I can't see them picking two spinners though.
  17. Reach out for some help and do not be afraid to do you as you are far from alone. Gamblers Anonymous is a start if you've not already been there. https://www.gamblersanonymous.org.uk/ I had an alcohol problem in the past which nearly killed me, but I managed to get control of it, now I don't drink at all. Nothing is impossible.
  18. 3 for Currie now. He's added some spice to the attack
  19. Yeh, surprising he's not played more, he's quicker than some of their other seamers.
  20. Well i think my point would be that you wouldn't sell memberships, apart from bundles for white ball games. So red ball games would be free everyone and you'd benefit from increases catering sales. Then at some point you'd charge for a streaming season ticket. I was watching a bit of Surrey v Somerset and their stream was excellent with great commentary from Dan Norcross and Phil Walker. The Hampshire stream had Simon Hughes and Lancs has Bumble, so it's getting more professional. We have Richard Rae...
  21. Just waiting for the declaration now.
  22. Sparse crowd from the stream, though that's not surprising, maybe more will turn up in the afternoon. If entry was free, would that make any difference or would you get people turning up that the club would rather not have? Was ever the problem though, even in the 80s I used to go during my school holidays and there weren't many there. Even if I lived in Leicester, I don't think I would go as I am too busy. What works best for me is actually the streaming, where I can work and have the stream open on another window. I would probably pay a subscription for an improved stream.
  23. Agreed. Great coach, but so far he's been too conservative and lacking in assertiveness for a good manager. There's a long history of excellent AMs who have not made the transition to manager. Paul Clement is a most notable and recent example.
  24. Looks like we are a bit thin on the bowling front, or could be just the Kookaburra ball. Warwickshire on course for a very high total - 887 is the record back in 1896
  25. Good number 2 and coach, but not a number 1.
