South Africa haven't played anyone good realistically. They don't play 5 test series against Australia, India or England. India - it's their national sport, 1.5bn people, the IPL, the India fronted BCCI, and everything that goes with that. We've needed to sort out county cricket for years and we just haven't.

We lose and everyone piles on. Think people need to be realistic about where were at. India - national sport, 1.5bn people Australia- national sport, weather that helps. We're basically propped up by a failing county system and dwindling resources. This team will be the best team we'll have for a very long time.

DK is class. I'm not as warm on Shastri, I don't think he needs to shout at the toss and his comments that India need more money were tone deaf for me. That said, Sky's cricket coverage is genuinely world class - compare it with their coverage on football and it's light years ahead.

Both sides can say what if to lots of things in the series. Ultimately I think you're looking at 2 sides who are in pretty good shape for the future. India have the bowlers to cope without Bumrah and even England look to have developed some depth in their bowling attack. Id love us to see us competing this well away from home but spin is our chilled heel. What a morning its going to be - im already a nervous wreck.

I think England will be buzzing with tbh. The forecast looks okay in the morning as some have said - heavy roller tomorrow morning as well. What a series. Its a phenomenal sport if you like prolonged pain for 5 days with occasional moments of relief over a 6 week period.

I actually think they've bowled brilliantly- just cant catch. I actually think this test has been useful- Tongue and Atkinson definitely test match level. I think they'd banked on Atkinson being fitter and Wood is a massive loss. If we got to Australia with Archer, Wood, Carse, Tongue, Atkinson and Stokes all fit we've got every chance. India have rotated their seamers better than us this summer. I don't get Overton at all - he's completely average, Potts surely has to be ahead of him. And as for the spinners I actually don't know how many there are aside from Lyon - Jadeja has looked average this summer. Bashir actually comes out of the summer with a lot of credit.
