I think that's the point for me though. Dropped catches in this and the last test have cost England. India's sticking power is to be applauded. -

We're relying on the rain or a meltdown from India. Can't see either happening. 2-2 probably a fair result from the series tbf. Worryingly as soon as India have shown a bit of fight in the last two we seem to lack answers. Hopefully this means Overton won't be in Australia- hes garbage. -

That's a huge wicket - think we need a lead of more than 100 here as batting is going to be easier tomorrow with the sun out. Advantage India. -

Got accused of not knowing anything about cricket the last time I mentioned this.... imagine trying to sledge Joe Root. Really hope we smash these *****. -

Behaving like a monumental **** after being smoked around at 7s. This is what happens when 20 something lads get 10m dollars a year and get worshipped. Key question....have england won that session because we all know india have played far better cricket all summer and with a bit more luck could be 4 nil up? -
From what I heard (admittedly rumours) he was a pain in the arse there. Travelled from miles away, cried when he wasn't playing, slagged the club off to his media mates and was never fit. Good riddance - total disaster of a signing.

I've said it before but Atkinson is so good. -

Based on what I've seen England have got to somehow keep Wood, Archer and Atkinson fit. I don't know how based on yesterday Potts hasn't come into the equation - I know they raved about Cook, and im loathe to judge on one performance but I cant see how Potts isn't more of a threat than Woakes and Cook currently. Both sides pretty terrible yesterday - some dreadful bowling and some terrible decisions. -

We've really missed Atkinson and Wood this summer. -

Not the first time India have got themselves into trouble on the square this week. (Stolen from bbc sport) -

Potts is a curious one as he always seems to do quite well and gets good players out. They do seem to rate him though but he seems to be seen more as a one day bowler now. I just don't really rate Overton. He's quick but not that quick and never really looks threatening. -

Particularly after saying his team play for 'the common man in India'. I think hes out of a job next week to be honest. 2 wins in 12, and no series win in 3 cannot be good enough for a nation as big as India. -

Three days of rain forecast and Surrey have managed one result there all season. Feels like it could be a bit of a damp squib. -

Aren't England too though? Anderson, Broad and Bairstow all moving on, a completely new bowling attack and missing arguably 2 of our first three seamers in Wood and Atkinson? You've not said it but its made me laugh when India are referred to as a 'young Indian side' when England are a younger side. I get the point people are trying to make but it probably highlights why the Aussies are so flipping good - they're never in transition for very long. -

So much is made of a few comments at the end, it's complete nonsense. England didn't want to be out there and fair enough, India wanted to bat on and fair enough. I'm not sure I've seen England crying much after it like has been suggested. They shook hands and moved on, the coverage after the game has just been about a few words said in the middle - as Nasser said after the game 'far, far too much is made of this'. It amazes me these lads don't chat more nonsense to be honest - I get bored watching a session without a wicket, imagine how tired they are. Completely amazed that India aren't under more pressure tbh....2 wins in 12, a coach who chats utter rubbish and throws his staff under the bus....no wonder Gill is looking a bit frazzled at times - he's actually coping with it pretty well. I think it's actually a compliment to England how much India celebrated yesterday, and for all the chat of our bowlers being average and struggling, it's easy to forget how average Siraj and Bumrah looked in the first innings. -

For comparison we were all pretty ****ed off the last time we drew at Old Trafford and were still in a series (Ashes 23). It's weird optics personally. You play the thing to win series and test matches, no one remembers draws when you don't win a series. -

Which Ravi Shastri tried to claim earlier this series they'd won that 2-1 after the series got abandoned with him infecting everyone with covid. Given they take 70% of global revenue and think they should have more our lads doing quite well to stick with them......their lot got paid about 10x whatever our players get financially. -
