If the rumours are true and relegation was all it took to get Esteban Cambiasso back, I honestly don't know why we've bothered with the Prem.

IMO, if Maddison decides he ONLY wants Spurs, we're better off taking the position that he gets us promoted (can't see him tossing it off all season due to England) and then walks for free. 25mil is an absolute disgrace and everyone knows it, even with relegation and the last year being a factor. I don't envision him doing that if the Newcastles of the world renew their interest and offer him a big bag of cash. If he is serious though re only Spurs, that may force their hand a little bit in either offering more money or completely ending their interest if they aren't willing to move from their frankly ridiculous valuation. To avoid a potential situation we pretty much need other teams interested besides Spurs, which as we move closer to the start of the season I think there will be a few if he is still here.

Fifty Million Pounds for player who is essentially only good when the ball isn't moving.. Yet media outlets and internet ITK's want to tell the world you'll get a player who scored 13 Premier League goals AND James Maddison for the same price .. Whatever brand of Spice these people are smoking (and I include Daniel Levy in that) is some high grade. They have lost their collective minds.

Hiring a manager is clearly far more nuanced than just this sort of thing.. HOWEVER, the fact that stuff like this is out there and an actual possibility (Man City would clearly like their youth players overseen by a "Pep Disciple" that preaches football in the same manner as their parent club), yet we could still (and probably will) go in the direction of a Dean Smith or Scott Parker is literally Leicester City Football Club in a nutshell.

BR's and Postecoglu's teams couldn't be more different, either. How the players AP recruited at Sellik will react to Brendan-ball will be interesting, Rangers were absolute muck for the first half of the season also, so you'd expect them to improve!

Watched Rangers regularly both domestically and in Europe for the entire duration of Kent's spell up there. 99.9% of Rangers fans will tell you there always looked to be a player in there somewhere, but only produced anything of note 1 in 10/15/20 games, where he should have been consistently one of the standout players in the league. Flattered to decieve the whole time he was there with his numbers and a habit of going missing in games he should have been setting alight. Cantwell came in last season and was streets ahead, same with Tillman.

England contention for what? Curling..? 🥌 33 Goals in 196 appearances for Rangers in all competitions. 3 in 29 games last year in a side that came 2nd in a poor league. I’m not sure it’s his “running off the ball” that’s the issue, it’s what he does when he’s got it that’s more concerning. Which, for what it’s worth, isn’t a lot.
