Im not convinced anyone can get a real tune out of the current squad. Rowett is known to set up a defence well and would be the one reason I'd probably go with him for now. Problem is to get him on a short term deal when he may have offers from Blackburn.

This makes me laugh, 99% of managers always get sacked. My original point was someone (don't know if it was you) saying Martin had success and discounting Gerrard when hes also had success at the same club Martin has been at, the club he failed at and got sacked. Either way you cant just take one set of achievements when you feel like it and ignore the other one. I don't want Gerrard but I wish people would at least be fair in their assessment.

I don't want either. However no one cant say Martin is better than Gerrard based on their current managerial careers. One won a league tittle, the other got sacked within 6 months in the same league. Martin got promoted from the championship, a league Gerrard has not managed in so can not judge them against each other here. They've both managed in the Premier League where they've both struggled but perhaps Gerrard did slightly better with a better squad than what Martin had available in the Premier League.

Bit bizarre to say that when Gerrard win the league title in Scotland and Martin couldn't last 6 months.

His profile as a manager would double in an instant by joining us, even if he went on to win the league with Lincoln. No disrespect to them, its a great achievement if he does it but by joining us he's already at national recognition even if we are a crazy club.
