  1. What a terrible result and an awful weekend. Good teams find a way to win and at the moment we can't. A lot of my optimism has slipped away because we can't just blame it all in luck. We aren't scoring enough goals, our defence isn't as secure as it has been and although we dominate games it's to little effect and the pressure is increasing.. QPR did to us what Boro did and every team who comes to the KP will adopt the same gameplan and mindset.
  2. Four away games. Sunderland Hull Chelsea Bristol
  3. Yes I started as a fan in the Bloomfield era. Lots of happy memories and saw some truly iconic players from the heights of the Double Decker at Filbert Street. Even Keith Weller in his white tights in the FA Cup.
  4. It was a "bad" season to be relegated and the fact Everton has their points deduction this season instead of last season just rubs salt in the wound. I honestly thought Luton would struggle the most but I agree Burnley and Sheffield Utd have been embarrassing. I enjoy watching us win in the championship rather than lose in the PL but football is a business and finances dictate we must push for promotion at the earliest opportunity
  5. I think we need automatic promotion because I don't fancy us in the playoffs. It'll be a massive anticlimax and the pressure after being top for so long would be immense. In saying that an injury time winner against Ipswich in the play off final would as ironic as it would be sweet. preferably a deflection. Unfortunately we'd have to sit through endless replays of Troy Deeney and maybe even Yann Kermogants missed penalty beforehand. Automatic should be our aim and hopefully it'll happen. 12 games is a lot and there will more twists to this season.
  6. Even at my most pessimistic I know every other team in the championship would swap places with us in a heartbeat. We've won so many games that a win can sometimes feel routine and a defeat a complete disaster when neither is an appropriate reaction. It's the emotional investment involved in supporting a club which non football fans just don't understand.
  7. We do create a lot of changes which is a cause for optimism just need a bit of luck at times and cooler heads in front of goal The loss to Leeds feels worse because we lost to Boro.
  8. No points for playing well. And if we can't score we arent playing that well.
  9. Since they got rid of Ainsworth they look a different beast. I'd imagine they will try to do what Boro did so we need to improve our finishing and stop being so wasteful.
  10. Yeah. We need a response when we play QPR because after them we have Hull Sunderland Southampton Bristol City and Norwich. Tough games with the pressure of a slender lead at the top. If we are going to stay in top of the mountain we can't afford to be bothered by the wind. Leeds and Ipswich have easier run ins than we do.

    Daka

Watching Daka up front is like watching a 5 year old eat a yoghurt. You know some of it will end up where it's supposed to go but most of it will be wasted and end up on the floor. .
  12. We should have buried them in the first hour but we let them in the door and they nicked the telly, most of the furniture and scattered Hovis crumbs all over the carpet.as a punishment for our wasteful finishing.
  13. Some fair points you've made but the disallowed "goal" was unfortunate. I think both teams will go up if we handle the pressure better but we have developed a habit of conceding late goals in key games and we should be doing the opposite. As soon as Leeds equalised we folded due to pressure, clinical finishing and deflections but you make your own luck. Thought we deserved a point but wasteful finishing cost us as it did against Boro. We don't really do relaxing but our players do it for us sometimes. Hopefully we'll meet again in the PL next season.
  14. Can't find much enthusiasm for the game. If we win .... great. If not.....never mind.
  15. I think Daka can be a decent support player because as you say he does put in the effort and he can take a penalty but he just isn't clinical enough to be relied on to score until he misses a few first He just isn't cut out to be the main man and score 20 goals a season. Blaming him for the defeat is a bit too easy because others were just as wasteful. Playing in the Austrian league for top club there isn't the same as even the Championship let alone the Premier League. I don't hate the guy but I do wish he was a lot more clinical.
  16. I think Enzo thinks Daka is the Zambian version of Haarland. He isn't.
  17. Fair enough. Seems a while ago mind.
  18. I wonder if this result will galvanise the team into a decent run of results or they will fold like wet cardboard due to the pressure of needing to win. We have sat pretty at the top for so long the fear of cocking it all up after winning 25 of 32 could make us implode like a badly designed submarine. We do seem to suffer from a terrible combination of poor finishing and sheer bad luck at the moment. A great performance for 70 odd minutes destroyed by a 15 minute meltdown.
  19. It's going to get tougher towards the end of the season and we don't seem to do well under pressure. We can't seem to see out games without having some kind of meltdown towards the end. Crucial late goals given away and apart from Cardiff H and West Brom A have we ever scored an equaliser or a winner ourselves?
  20. When Leeds equalised it was like a wildlife documentary when a pride of lions spot the sick antelope at the back and think to themselves lunch has arrived and tuck in.
  21. Just not clinical enough. We need a decent striker and not one who wastes chance after chance. We could be the only team ever to win 25 out of the first 32 games and not get promoted. That six point lead will evaporate in a few weeks because this team just can't handle pressure
  22. Coventry all over again but without the sending off. Played well in the first half but bottled it second half and conceded goals in the last ten minutes yet again.Automatic promotion seems a dream because when the pressure is on we fall apart and God help us in the playoffs because this team won't cope with having to get a result when needed against a top six team.
  23. Yesssss¡!!!!!
  24. Head says 2-1 Leeds. Heart says 1-2 Leicester. If it's a draw I'll just be quietly pleased.
  25. If Vardy isn't fit should have gone with a Worthington Heskey Lineker front three with Weller and Izzet in midfield Taggart Elliot Walsh and Morgan in defence. Glover and Lynex as wingers. No goalie needed.
