I really can't understand where fans are getting this idea from that playing a weakened side for 75 mins is somehow a better strategy than purposely not playing your best players then bringing them on late?

We had a poor game all around, tonight was a write off, that doesn't make Cooper right over constantly playing Ayew over Fatawu, or playing Justin over Ricardo.

On the evidence of tonight, it doesn't make him wrong either.

not really the point is it? we didn't have one on the bench tonight, the point is that, accepting daka is injured, we've got 24 senior players plus youth teamers, at least 4 senior players miss out each week

I don't really understand your point, I don't think you do either.

we've got a full squad. Today was the first time Thomas has appeared in a squad, Vestegaard hasn't been seen for months (he's not actually injured), Kasey Mac is in the doghouse for something (Ayew and Reid offer nothing he doesn't). we're not so threadbare that a player not even trying in training still makes the squad

Are any of those players right backs?

No :P. Worst result, yes, for obvious reasons. But worst performance? No. First half we played reasonably well except for 3 successive errors in one sequence that lead to a goal. Second half really poor though.

Compare that to most of our other games, where it's tricky to even find a half of football you could be proud of!

Righto mate,  whatever makes you happy.

Without looking at the stats i cant answer and i was just going on the 1st half, 2nd half we were doggo. Maybe someone will post stats? but honestly the 1st 25mins we looked a better side than we have done all season (imo) and i wasnt hiding behind the couch watching.

The first half was better obviously,  but I'd guess, and I don't know, that Forest would have shaded all the stats.

he'd have been fit if Cooper wasn't a completely useless manager who refused to bring him on for a single minute prior to today. man completely failed to manage his squad for the first two months, repeatedly leaving his first subs until second half stoppage time. unsurprising those that are being mismanaged in terms of minutes then look rusty.

Alternative theory, Ricardo hasn't been picked because he hasn't been good enough in training?

The difference for me tonight was we actually started the game and looked like we had a plan. We wernt so squew whiffy, lobsided. We actually controlled the game (at least at the very start) which i dont think we have done all season? 2nd half different matter.

How many chances did Forest have while we're controlling the game?

Folks, a manager can select the right personnel but still not make an impact as a coach during the game.

The defending was abysmal by the players, and that is on them, primarily. The lack of a clear press for most of the game was baffling, however, and I am struggling to comprehend what the plan was after half time for us to havs a) played like that and b) responded to Forest's changes in approach. Those aspects are on the coach. They aren't the reason we lost the game, but they certainly don't help.

Even after that, I still think that is our strongest 11, barring maybe JJ/Kristiansen. But probably not.

The loss is on the players primarily, but they doesn't give you an "I told you so" I'm afraid. Put it back in ice, deary me.

Our strongest 11 that gave our worse performance?

How has Cooper proved anyone wrong?

the bloke couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery.

When "coward Cooper" was playing his uber negative tactics and not picking certain players he was picking up points. You all got the team you were demanding and it was a disaster. Maybe just assume you don't know best?

Teams strengthen. Ipswich came up from League 1 and performed well. Hull were heavily backed with a number of Premier League loanees. West Brom settled and Norwich improved (to the point their best player is now playing in the Champions League). Wednesday become mid-through the season a really interesting tactically clever team.

Plymouth who just avoided relegation beat the league leaders, as did Milwall  . Could be argued that the also rans were stronger. We can argue all sorts of silly things to prove our points. Fact is they did better than us.

No Ipswich either to be fair, we were definitely under more pressure in the last third of the season than Burnley were. We should still have got more points than them though...

A team just promoted from league 1? Cooper won't forgiven if we don't beat them

I didn’t realise 4 points equates to quite a few more points.

Fair enough, I thought it was more but I couldn't be arsed to check.

F act is they did better than us, so the the evidence that we had a better team/ manager isn't there.
