  1. The only reasons some owners of football clubs are bad are if they are using the club to whitewash their ill gotten gains (Man City, Chelsea, Newcastle) or using it to serve their wider business interests by extracting value (Man Utd, Rangers).Ours are neither. Don't blame owners for footballing decisions. Neither Top, nor Vichai for that matter, had much knowledge of football, their role is financial and in that respect they have transformed the club. We have good owners who genuinely want the club to do well relying on people who know about football to actually run it. The hard truth is running a successful football club is difficult unless you can throw billions at it without consequence (Man City, Chelsea in pre PSR days). The reason winning the premier league was so amazing is that is was so astonishingly rare for a club like ours. Talking about the manager, tactics, players, signings is part of the appeal of the game but public chants of personal abuse is demeaning and destructive and sets an appalling example to younger people in the ground. I am not saying we should cheer poor performances or clap the team as they get relegated, booing is fine in my book, but unless our owners are openly extracting value for their own gain or perpetuating barbarous acts keep your criticism to the decisions they make that you disagree with rather than chanting for them to go.
  2. Totally counterproductive whatever your views on the reason for the current fortunes of the team. Chants like this serve only one purpose; to make the people chanting feel better.
  3. We drew with them away under Cooper
  4. If we beat palace next week and Wolves and Ipswich lose to Newcastle and Brighton respectively we'd be out of the bottom three. I appreciate that’s three if's but it's possible.
  5. I’ll say it again no one won or lost anything in the the first half of the season. Last season when we had a wobble the same people were saying we’d be in the playoffs. We just don’t know but there is still hope so just saying we're down all the time isn't helping anyone.
  6. It’s possible and that’s at least something. Losing all hope now achieves nothing.
  7. We’re not relegated. It’s not a great situation but the season is only half way through. Nothing was either won or lost in half a season.
  8. I was also there and thought he played well. ELK had an excellent game but Facundo was pretty good.
  9. Players on big contracts who don’t actually play are a liability to their clubs. Any loan saves them some money. The only downside is they are playing for a competitor club but that’s not a big deal if the club is at the other end of the table. The only blocks are if the player doesn’t want to be loaned or no one wants them. In our situation we’d be idiots not to take both on loan if they were on offer.
  10. All this talk about RVN having no experience except he has more than Enzo had when joined. RVN has managed a whole successful season in Holland but Enzo had only had a short disastrous run of games. Neither are very experienced of course but to describe RVN as a complete rookie is not correct.
