I mean, have you actually seen how bad Sainz has been this year?  He currently sits 17th out of 19 full time drivers in the standings.  48 points behind his teammate who sits in 8th.  Same number of DNF's too.

Sure Hamilton is currently 42 points behind Leclerc but at least he's directly behind him in the standings.

Maybe it isn't so easy to switch teams after being somewhere for a long time after all.

For what it's worth though, I also believe he should retire at the end of this season.  You look at the grid now and he's looking like yesterdays man.  Verstappen, Leclerc, Norris, Piastri and Russell are at their primes or approaching it.  Even if he had a car that could challenge, he's lost the few tenths needed to make the difference, especially in qualifying.

His career from karting through to F1 has been unprecedented.  Time to call it a career IMO.

You're making Asha seem sane with that take

  2. How do you suggest qualifying for international tournaments though where (most) games arent pointless?

Not really fair to have a closed shop od 6/8 teams who qualify automatically and therefore don't really have to play because they're that much better than most. Also can't really have a tiered system like the nations league where some top nations miss out on the euros/WC but countries like Albania and Finland do. Don't disagree England Vs San Marino is never particularly exciting but there's not really a way around it.

Probably just me overthinking it (or maybe not) but the club seem to be enjoying posting something about Carranza every half an hour rather any build up to another signing...

I'm waiting for a video of Jules saying "are we ready for another signing, foxes fans?" 😎😎

    It'll be:

    Stolarczyk

    Ricardo, Okoli, Vestergaard, Thomas

    James, Soumare

    Fatawu, Ramsey, Mavididi

    Carranza

    Against Oxford.

Or at least, it should be, I guarantee he squeezes Jordan Ayew in there somewhere with the excuse that one of the new signings isn't ready. Or maybe it's for Mavididi.

Ayew for Fatawu, Skipp for Jordan and we're cooking 🧑‍🍳

Its only high if he actually performs. Who knows how the petulant little ***** will take to it. If he does play well and they have an option at £25m whatever it is, we've still been mugged.

Meh, can either flog a guy who doesn't want to be here now or flog a guy who doesn't wanna be here next year, probably for roughly the same price.

I get why as fans we'd want the money now and if that's gonna be the difference between us bringing anyone in tomorrow then sure, it's a pants deal for us. I doubt it is gonna be the difference though. I'm not gonna pretend I know everything about PSR but if there's a benefit to keeping hold of him until next year then I don't think it's terrible. Hopefully they're paying most of not all of his wages, think it's clear we just want him out the building.

Or to speak to his agent and other club about a transfer.

Or could be one of those cheap day out abroad gimmicks where he'll later say it cost less to fly to Milan than it would have to get return train tickets to Newcastle
