Changing how the power bidding markets work would be a much easier, quicker and effective method with immediate effect to bring down bills without taking away from how green the energy is. In fact we often switch off wind-farms and pay for this. The system as it stands is so out of date and is crying out for modernisation.

I think you’re too far into your left wing bubble to look at this objectively. There is very little to separate the two, particular now Labour has moved to the right since Corbyn.
-
Split the thread into left and right versions. Then we can have two echo chambers instead of one.
-
They're both the same party

Cases like this make me wish for the return of capital punishment. Heartbreaking.

But he does hypnotise bigger boobs. Kind of hard to take anyone seriously after that.

Support act Bob Vylan?

All the news articles just say "a man"

I was talking about the wider landscape, but agree with you on this. Murder is never ok, under any circumstances.

What does cognitive dissonance regarding ideologies have to do with that? Feels like a classic appeal to emotion/whataboutism fallacy....
-
Yup, breathtaking levels of cognitive dissonance. So many on the left hugely against homophobia and misogyny (and rightly so), and simultaneously pro-Islam, which preaches homophobia and misogyny.
-
Can't say I'm surprised, the amount of Islamophilia and antisemitism in the UK is wild.

I never said he was hated. I said he was the most unpopular PM in history, and backed that up with the Ipsos data. Plenty so hate him though, along with Thatcher, Blair, Truss etc.

Yup, ours went up £300. Still not down. She was horrendous.
-
I guess she went so quickly she had less opportunity to annoy people. She also had some very bad press (I didn’t like her at all, or anything Tory, before I get accused of that) but everything in the press was about the high cost of U.K. gilt yields under her mini-budget - they are higher now under this government and have been for some time, and it’s had very little coverage.

I'd love to ban AI, it's going to ruin society in so many ways (it already has for some people/industries). Most people blissfully unaware still, and we're far too late to stop it now.

Well I'm just defending the post I wrote because apparently I am making it all up, trolling or projecting my desires according to which poster on here you believe. I'm just going off what is being widely reported.

Some of the millions of people who have lost their jobs to AI
-
That is well overdue. Absolutely bonkers currently waiting 3-4 weeks to walk in and say “can I have a referral” “sure” “bye”.
-
Just going off recent polls. Starmer is the most unpopular PM in history. Labour are not liked with either the left or right. I don’t know anyone that would vote Tory again, but could be wrong on this one. Not many happy with how they ran the country for 14 years. Nope. I have no stake in this. I’m not a Reform voter. I’ve previously voted Labour, Green and Lib Dem and am currently politically homeless.

@leicsmac doesn't think Reform are that new party
-
Labour was the protest party last time, and now they are one of the most hated governments in history. Neither them or the Tories have a chance in 4 years. Which leaves Reform. I don't think your average person cares about stuff like this.
