Story in Thailands main English media outlet today.

Looks like a complete hit piece from the Thai media establishment on King Power and our beloved Chairman

I’d suggest any political/royal protection they had is fading based on this being published

“financial pariah” and “strategic desperation” are some of the  phrases being used

    https://www.nationthailand.com/business/corporate/40051565

    A less-than-flattering portrayal of Aiyawatt & co.

But this outlet is apparently known for twisting tales to fit its own agenda - a Thai equivalent of GB News, perhaps?

The City owner, whatever troubles he may have in Thailand, will continue to rub shoulders with our own royal elite at polo matches in England.

I can't stand the bloke, but he did a sensational job there - particularly that season.

His PPG (after taking over a side bottom of the Championship) would have been 92 points over a whole season.

They had a lucky decision in the final, but they were probably the better side and nothing to say they wouldn't have won had it finished level at FT.

Forest under Cooper were on course for yet another mediocre Championship season until THAT Cup tie against us.

Rodgers and Ward (the keeper that day) really do have a lot to answer for..😡

Think it will be Rohl or someone similarly young and driven, just don’t see us going for Dyche, would be a PR disaster that the club just can not afford right now, need someone marketable to try to bring back some of the sales they have lost

    Except they haven't lost sales.

Those who have walked away have all been replaced - presumably by happy-clappies who have no problem with Rudkin and genuinely believe we'll cruise to another instant promotion no matter who the manager is.

Fear such folk could be in for a less-than-pleasant surprise..

I'm inclined to agree with you there bud.

Playing god awful Enzoball invited,  IMO needless pressure whilst we were pi$$ing around completing the thousand and two passes outside our 18 yd box, "looking for solutions" ( it still makes me chuckle when I think about that BS phrase dribbling out of Enzo's mouth) in the name of controlling the game.   You need a top quality defence if you really want to adopt this style of play.

We were lucky most of the time...

    Indeed.

Faes and Vestergaard were found out on a regular basis during the second half of that season.

If the manager. whoever he may be, is looking to  rely on either or both of them next season, the coming months could be truly gruesome viewing..🤢

Hmm, Yorkshire or Miami... tough one.

Unless his Spanish is up to scratch, the second option isn't really available to Vardy.

But the Mercury told us up to FIFTEEN Premier clubs were in a bidding war for him.

The paper couldn't have been telling porkies, could it? 😯

We've spent hideous amounts of money on championship standard players. Skipp, Souttar, Coady, Daka etc. Not sure if Daka is even championship level to be fair.

Three of these players, including Daka, have Championship winners' medals (and in Coady's case, two).

But Souttar is still several months away from full fitness after a bad injury. So selling him won't be an option for us.

Best way to consider it. Vichai left us with one of the best midfields in the league. Ndidi, Maddison and Tielemans.

Except Tielemans didn't sign for us until three months AFTER Vichai's death.

So it was Aiyawatt (NEVER use the nickname as it gives him a flattery he doesn't deserve) .who signed the cheque to bring him here, just as it was throughout the Rodgers era and under various managers since.

In fact he's spent more money during his time in charge than any other chairman in the club's history, Vichai included.

But far too much of that "investment" has been on dodgy managers and players, as well as the monumentally ill-judged, ill-timed vanity project at Seagrave.

The impact of the "world-leading training complex" on club finances has been clear ever since it opened.  Sadly, the quality of the coaches and players using the facility to date has fallen well short of expectations.

Perhaps, as two years ago, the incumbent owner can find a hungry, creative and ambitious coach who can transcend (at least for a short while) the underlying toxicity at the club.

However the continuing presence of the dead hands of the clearly inadequate Jon Rudkin and Susan Whelan ensures that scenario is highly unlikely.

As the head of a young family, Aiyawatt must consider whether he is still able to give City the priority it needs, especially given the ongoing tensions facing his business in Thailand.

But he's unlikely to find anyone as willing to pour money into a financial black hole as he has been in recent seasons.

Aston Villa's dystopian big woke joke!

But Villa's offer is a matter for their fans to deal with. They're not being forced at gunpoint to attend WSL fixtures.

What's going on with falling WSL attendances?

That article has brought out some Taliban-style types who delight in flaunting their hostility to women's sport in general, and football in particular.

But while the England team continues to be widely followed, at club level the game has become stagnant, with Chelsea winning every season, the usual suspects battling for minor places, teams like City content just to stay in the league (reminiscent of the men's teams of past eras) and promoted clubs not able to bridge the gap between the leagues.

In short, the WSL has become too predictable and it's not a surprise some are losing interest.

Dreading what's going to be said by some of the Glastonbury performers.

Soumaré helped Lille win Ligue 1 that season, ahead of PSG.

But with Ndidi, Tielemans and Maddison as our midfield, plus Mendy, Choudhury and Pérez in reserve as well as KDH breaking through, did we really need to sign him?

Well you must have been able to see the future then, or were hugely ungrateful. I'm sorry but a cup win and 5th is pretty much the best season our club has ever had apart from the title win

The pandemic - and consequent lack of crowds - meant that 20-21 was slightly abnormal.

Rodgers set a record (which still stands!) of the most ever home defeats in a season for a single City manager.

Bottling a Champions League spot for the second season in a row after being in the top 4 up until the last 2 games showed the mentality issues within the squad Rodgers was never able to fix.

He never really wanted to stay with us more than two seasons anyway.

There are no circumstances whatsoever where Luis Enrique would quit PSG for a basket case club like Tottenham.

If Spurs had a better season than Arsenal then they wouldn't have sacked their manager!

Spurs have been proper dog muck all season, finished bottom of the league without the relegated sides, and only just scraped past just as bad a side to win a tinpot European trophy.

Did you think the Europa League was a "tinpot trophy" when Wolves were contenders for it not so long ago? 😄

That's Soulsbys fault, he didn't want to be involved in the East Midlands Mayordom, as such we've been left out in the cold when it comes to Government funding. It's cost the city an astronomical amount of funding, all because that **** is on an ego trip and a one-man mission to take as many bungs for student accommodation as possible. Absolute ****ing rotten.

As a city leader, Soulsby passed his sell-by date in the last century (when he was actually sacked TWICE!).  He has been a blight on the city for generations. 😟

But he actually did the right thing in steering clear of a deal where Leicester would have been stitched up by a Notts/Derby alliance.

He could and should be submitting Leicester's own bid for transport cash, including an expansion of bus services (especially on match days) and the building of new rail stations (including one behind the Kop).

  18. If these figures quoted are anywhere near accurate (recent experience, especially with attendances, suggests they should be treated with caution), then the club hierarchy will viewsthem as a massive vote of confidence.

Seems the overwhelming majority of Foxes (at least those who go to games) are willing to fork out hundreds of pounds each year for whatever dross is served up in the name of football.

It's highly unlikely that the latest stint in the lower leagues will prove to be as brief as the previous one was.

Protesting is a bit daft if i'm being honest. Yeah give up your ST because you've had enough, but protesting and getting rid of it purely for that reason plays into the clubs hands.

They sell your seat for more to a new customer, club makes more profit. Also with the price of match tickets being as they are, if they fill your seat for around 10 of the home games next season, they've made your dropped revenue.

Enjoy the games, be vocal in your need for change, but don't lose heart. We'll be back

    Really?

The Championship is full of fading has-been teams (Stoke, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby among others) who thought they'd soon return to the limelight, only to be proved wrong.

What makes you so certain we'll dodge that fate?

Reports of deaths and injuries 'false and fabricated' - Gaza Humanitarian Foundationpublished at 11:11

    11:11Breaking

The BBC has just received a response from the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation following reports that dozens were killed after Israeli tanks opened fire near an aid centre in Rafah.

"It is false and fabricated. All aid was distributed today without incident," the GHF says, adding that there have been no injuries or fatalities.

"We have heard that these fake reports have been actively fomented by Hamas. They are untrue and fabricated."

As we've mentioned, our colleagues at BBC Verify are trying to establish the facts and we'll bring you the latest information as soon as we get it.

The same "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" (in reality nothing of the sort) backed by both Israel and the US?

They're about as reliable, credible and impartial as "Comical Ali" was for Saddam Hussein.

First paragraph is obviously referring to Mandaric. Although he was Serbian/American. Although we were relegated to L1 in his time, the damage was done before 2007. He took the club on the down and ended up stabilising it and bringing in Pearson which is the best move ever done by an owner of ours. That is where you can trace all the success back to, the summer before the L1 campaign. The biggest criticism I have of Milan is who he sells his clubs to. Portsmouth and Sheff Weds were awful and we are now going that way.

I had hoped the era of sycophancy towards Mandaric had long since passed, even on here. But I was clearly mistaken.. 😟

But valiant attempts to rewrite history cannot obscure the fact he became - and remains - the only Leicester City owner to take the club to the depths of third-tier football, despite having the biggest transfer budget in the Championship that season.

He then struck lucky when Rupert Lowe at Southampton decided to dump the manager who kept his club up at our expense. Even then, less than two years later, he was happy to throw Pearson and co under a bus in order to advance his own financial interests.

The most that can be said about the Mandaric episode is that we finished it in the same division that we started it.
