Old song on post horn gallop CD early 00s

I remember it but never quite got the words. Here's the original song -
Seems like a copy of the NASL the now defunct and first USA Soccer League and fore runner to MLS which was around in the late 60s early 70s when they had the like of Pelé, Franz Beckenbauer, Carlos Alberto, Giorgio Chinaglia, Johan Cruyff, Johan Neeskens, Gerd Müller, Bobby Moore, Eusébio (wiki) I’d imagine it’ll take as long as the USA have taken before it’s taken seriously

Then at least you should be able to buy online on the day by registering, paying and downloading your ticket to the game. They have the technology but not the will.

They seem to have lost a bit of confidence from the KO and took a while to see that they could still get something from this game.

if the membership scheme is for security purposes, which I doubt then it should just be a one off lifetime payment at most but preferably free. Do they still give out a bag of 'goodies' when you sign up, that seems pretty insulting to me.

You'd think with the financial situation at the club they'd be cheering every extra ticket sold, sure it'll be peanuts but these are likely to be future season ticket holders to fill the seats of all us old uns when we are watching from a heavenly Filbert Street.

Should VAR be introduced to the lower leagues?
davieG replied to JayTheFox's topic in General Football and Sport
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12982829/Leicester-manager-Enzo-Maresca-calls-VAR-introduced-Championship.html Enzo Maresca sent shivers down the spines of English football fans by calling for VAR to be introduced in the Championship. After working on the coaching staff at West Ham and Manchester City, the Leicester boss has seen both sides of the coin and believes technology improves the game. Yet many supporters in the second tier would reject VAR, with its stoppages and controversies. Maresca has an axe to grind with officials following recent games at Ipswich and Coventry, where he felt big calls went against the Championship leaders. ‘It’s a little bit of a mixed feeling,’ he said. ‘In the Championship when you see a goal you can celebrate because you know nothing will happen to change it. Last year and in the years when I used VAR, you are always waiting, waiting, because you don’t know if there is something (to disallow it). ‘In terms of the immediate reaction, yes, it’s more enjoyable. In the end though, you can see more things with VAR and it’s much better for the game. ‘They have VAR in the second division in Spain, the same in Italy. Here we don’t have it and I don’t know the reason why. In my opinion it helps.’ VAR has been used in Football League play-off finals and in some Carabao Cup matches but has still not been brought into regular fixtures in the Championship or Leagues One and Two. Championship clubs considered whether to bring in a slimmed-down version of VAR for this season but decided against, due to the dissatisfaction it has caused in the top flight. However some EFL managers agree with Maresca. Last October Stevenage boss Steve Evans said: ‘The EFL needs VAR at the earliest opportunity as the officiating is not at the level it needs to be.’ -
Do they still do Masters Football, we used to be good at that.

A city centre street first closed to traffic during the pandemic will now be permanently pedestrianised. Work to widen footpaths and create more room for people on a stretch of Granby Street, between its junctions with Dover Street and Chatham Street, will begin on Monday, January 22. The scheme will permanently close the junction of Dover Street and Granby Street to vehicles, Leicester City Council has said. The authority also plans to create new turning on Dover Street which it said will allow for general traffic to reach nearby businesses and attractions, including The Little Theatre. The former pay-and-display parking bays along Granby Street – which have been out of use for more than three years – are to be converted into “wider, high-quality footpaths” with outdoor-café seating areas, the council added. Additional on-street parking bays will be created on Chatham Street, York Street and Dover Street instead. During this time, Granby Street will be closed to traffic also the stretch between Dover Street and Chatham Street. A “short” diversion will be in place and will be “well signposted”, the council added. Leicester City Council said this scheme is the latest in a series of ongoing investments to improve Granby Street, which it describes as a “busy shopping street and important gateway into Leicester city centre”. This includes the refurbishment of the landmark Grand Hotel buildings and restoration of its historic shopfronts. -
...and why does it matter how many extra tickets they sell? Surely just one extra fan makes it worthwhile. Does it add to their workload and even if it does that's what they are there and paid for. The whole situation has no logic to it if it does tell us why this is even a restriction.
