  1. He got Southampton promoted out of the Championship by playing attractive football, improved both MK Dons and Swansea and failed at Rangers? So he's done 1 bad job out of the 4 he's had. McCinnes who was lauded at Hearts is now enduring the same kind of frustrations thus far as Martin was.
  2. - He dropped Stolarczyk who's also horrendous with the ball at his feet. Whilst presumably signed as 3rd choice, stylistically at least, Ravizzoli is probably the most suited keeper that we have. - He's presumably been impressed by his attitude in training despite interest in him from elsewhere. Perhaps this can't be said for both Faes and Mavididi. We don't know as we're not privy to this information so it's pointless speculating. - We don't know how the signings played out. He may have been given a list of recommendations by the Technical Director and Chief Scout and he may have been part of the process of then choosing from said recommendations. If he trusts those that he's previously worked with given our precarious situation then fair enough. Signing promising players from a club like Brighton should be viewed as a positive rather than a negative. - Agreed on this one. I'm not sure BDR is a footballer nevermind a striker. - Hopefully this is remedied somewhat before the transfer window closes as watching Okoli and Souttar especially gives me palpitations. I also want him to succeed here. I didn't want him here, but he is now and he's a decent coach.
  3. On the flip-side, what has he done to earn a negative feeling towards him in his short time here?
  4. If he gets the results and people still don't take to him or the style he's implemented then that's their problem and on them, not him. Thus far in the short period of time he's been here he's done very little wrong, and certainly not enough wrong to warrant the reaction of some of our brain-deads.
  5. With this in mind, do you think it's probably a little counter productive for people to already boo and be turning on him after we've not yet lost a game having played just the 2? If after 10 games we're in the same position in the league that we are right now, sure, boo to your hearts content. It won't necessarily help anything, but at least there'd be some slightly valid reasoning for doing so and aiming it in his direction. At the moment people are either misdirecting their irritation or they just don't like him and don't want him to succeed, which by proxy also means they don't want Leicester to succeed as he's currently our manager.
  6. You've acknowledged that the future of the club is at stake. By booing, being over reactionary and a bit of a numbnuts would you say that you're being the knight in shining armour and fixing the problem or would you say that you're deepening the divide and actually making things worse? You shouldn't really have an issue with Russell Martin to the point that he's being booed at this point as truth be told, he's not really done an awful lot wrong yet. If your booing is aimed at the owners, well, they appear to be attempting to sell up as everyone wants anyway. So just for clarity, who and what are you so angry at that falls outside of those?
  7. What are the Euro Millions numbers for Tuesday, Mystic Meg?
  8. I'm not sure he's expecting either of those things is he though? He's probably acutely aware that neither are good enough or stylistically suited enough for his style and so will attempt to bring in a centre back more suited before the end of the window and will likely use McFarlane moving forwards... But sure, we'll go with him expecting Okoli and Thomas to evolve into Van Dijk and Roberto Carlos to suit your narrative 😊
  9. You're unintentionally hilarious. Perhaps my favourite poster on here.
  10. No. He's shit, possession football is shit, every player that we have apart from our academy graduates are shit and when he's sacked I'm going to have a celebratory tug.
  11. Who knows? The sooner they're gone the better, which I'm sure is something that we can all agree on.
  12. Challinor wasn't an option, I'm not sure how many more times this needs to be said before it hits home 😂
  13. I'm confident that my "fantasy" is more realistic than him being hounded out within the next few weeks and resigning because of a few people booing in the stands, yes, if that helps. I didn't really want him here either, never really liked him. There'll be no pretending or absence from me. I've just given an opinion that I think it's brain-dead to be booing a manager after the FIRST game of the season in which you've not even lost and that perhaps given the adequate tools to carry out his requests that we might actually be successful this season.
  14. Oh I get it. It's just brain-dead, but that figures.
  15. I hope that we're successful under Martin and that we get promoted without him having to resign. I also hope that we're able to properly compete in the Championship the following season with (hopefully) new ownership, preferably still under the same manager if he's been successful in getting us promoted. Therein lies the difference though. You've outwardly expressed a desire for us to fail, because Martin is the manager. I want us to be successful despite the fact that he's our manager.
  16. Why would the fans give Challinor (who wasn't and still isn't available btw) the time to build, but not our current manager? You've reiterated the point that it's more to do with who the manager is rather than anything else.
  17. I've just always enjoyed the continental passing style of football. Loved watching Spain during the world cup, loved Barcelona and Man City under Pep. **** me, I even enjoyed watching Leicester a bit under Enzo. I much prefer being in control of the game and having the ball than seeing it melted long and losing it. Our current predicament is that we're trying to pass it around like the aforementioned teams but with players of the wrong skillset attempting it, and of course, Russell Martin is nowhere near the level of Pep or Enzo either.
  18. And so the cycle continues. The fanbase must also bear the responsibility in some way, shape or form if they're not able to show even a modicum of patience and it translates to brainless booing and toxicity. If the toxicity and booing is earned like it was the last 2 seasons, absolutely, go for it.
  19. Booing at the end of your first league game, when you haven't even lost the game is pretty toxic. They're not likely to know who the boo's are and aren't being aimed at as they're not able to communicate with those booing
  20. I'm glad. I hope we continue to try to play in that manner and replace the centre backs and pivot in the team with players of that skill set so that we're able to carry out his instructions and coaching properly.
  21. You can't just appoint a manager to appease a section of brain-dead fans either though can you? There wouldn't have been a viable managerial option that absolutely every fan would have been on board with either. He's done very little wrong so far if we're being totally honest, we just have some fans who want him to fail and have already made up their mind.
  22. Exactly this. I wonder if the Bristol City fans are being quite so kneejerk with Skubala, afterall, he is the messiah that alot of fans so desperately craved.
  23. I'm not sure he's told them to "get mugged after pissing about at the back" in all fairness.
  24. They have to be trolling?
