His contract is up in 2026, so Palace would probably command a decent fee this summer. He's highly rated and it wouldn't surprise me if teams further up the PL are keeping their eye on him

But what about the players potentially getting frostbite??
-
Won the first game against the Kent pair (James King & Tony Marshment) pretty comfortably, then lost the last 32 match against a pair from Northants who eventually lost in the semis. Nice one 👍🏻 We won our County Club Championship as a club on Sunday. I’ve just got the club singles left to play in now, semi on Friday and then hopefully the final on Sunday…I’m favourite to win it, so probably won’t 😂 I’m hoping to though, so I can have a stab at the Champion of Champions next year.

Awesome! Well done mate! Yeah once Bowls England update the competitors I'll let you know We lost in the area semi final due to us not being able to put out our strongest team in the national two fours. The other team screwed us a little bit with the dates they offered. Lost in the area final of the national top club too. Me and my dad also had to give the area final of the family pairs due to my dad being ill with Covid and Bowls England not allowing us a few days extension on the play by date. There response was, can you not get a sub. I'd understand in other comps, but you can't just play with anyone in the family pairs Massive shame as on paper we should have at least got to the national quarters and be at Leamington in that as well. Winning the pairs has softened the blow a little though

@The People's Hero How's your season gone buddy? I've managed to qualify for Leamington in the pairs, won the Leicestershire final on Sunday. We play Kent A in the prelim at Leamo so you'll have to let me know what they're like once the qualifier names are up!
-
You're probably best to look on ebay or on actual bowls retailers (they usually have a used section). Failing that you could always contact any clubs local to you as members sometimes sell their used bowls at their respective clubhouses.

First round of our County Fours this evening. Looking forward to getting out on the green again!
-
Amazing! Well done buddy!! I play our club singles final on Friday, then we've got the Leicestershire Club Championship final on Sunday. Two more games and the season is over for me....fingers crossed for a couple more trophies!!
-
Good luck to you too mate
-
Thanks pal. Just the club singles semi (and hopefully final) and the final of the Club Championship left for me now
-
They only did the live streaming for the Men’s and Women’s pairs on Monday & Tuesday unfortunately mate
-
Disappointed is an understatement. Lost 16-15 in the 1st round (2nd game of day 1). We went in to the last end 16-14…..I pulled the jack back with my 2nd bowl to leave us holding 3, their number 2 drew 2nd bowl, our skip then had a shot to make anything from 2-4 shots and had plenty of ways to do it just by being up……he was 2 yards short. Gutted

It's the eve of the Men's Triples at Leamington.......wish me luck boys!!!
-
That's rubbish mate! Hopefully next season is a bit more normal in every sense! Thank you pal, I fancy our chances of doing something if we all bring our A game!
-
Knocked out last night in the all England round of 32 in the family pairs. Gutted, but was not meant to be this year. On to Leamington in the triples and fingers crossed we can go as far as possible and achieve something special!
-
Thanks pal. Fingers crossed for you in that then! The only thing Leics have like that is an unbadged double rink. Our club is still in our County Club Championship (2 rinks at home, 2 rinks away). We play the quarters of that on Friday and should stand a good chance of winning it. Yeah we were very happy to regain our title! We won it last in 2018. We got to the last 16 at Leam that year, so hoping to go a few further in 2021! I'd say we were a strong county for sure, we probably underachieve at Leam though. Hopefully I can provide a positive update tomomorrow regarding the national family pairs!
-
Qualified for Leamington on Sunday in the triples. Leicestershire Triples Champions 2021 Playing our last 32 match of the Family Pairs on Thursday against a pair from Lincs.
-
We lost in the semi final of the fours, so no Leam in that for me buddy We've still got the final of the trips to play next Sunday and are favourites to go through in that Through to the area final in the family pairs with the old man, which we play on Tuesday. A win in that takes us to the last 32 in England. Need to get to the quarters to get to Leam in that. I had planned to play in the Middleton Cup for Leics this season as the format has changed. All due to play 3 in one of our rinks only for the better half to book weekends away for us and the kids on the 1st and 2nd round dates I'm available for the quarters should we get that far and the manager wants to change it up Glad you're enjoying mate and it would be great for our paths to cross on the green or in the Leam bar!
-
Nice! Every club I've been to in Leicestershire this season has had it's bar open, so surprised to hear yours isn't. I've found it great to be back on the green again and getting some competitive action. I'm through to the final of the county triples and a win it that will take me to the national finals at Leamington. Still got the chance to get qualify in the fours and family pairs too.

Quick bump for this thread. How is everyone's season going? Have any other FT posters decided to give the game a go?

He's a free agent. He's just training with the club still for fitness.

TPH has got it pretty much spot on to be fair. At my club our membership ranges from 15 to the older generation. We are a very strong club on the competitive side of things with the majority of our top players being under 40. There are a few exceptions to that though, my dad is 64 and still playing at a high county level and qualifying for the national finals. At national level it is very much around the under 40 mark, again with a few exceptions. Selectors are always looking for players with plenty of years left in them to build a core of the squad that will stay together for a number of year. I've got national aspirations of my own, but it's very hard to displace players with high reputations, even when form doesn't warrant selection.
-
I've been for one chuck up by myself haha. That's enough for me until the comps are back. Ahh Mr Sanders plays for Devon. Yeah we're pretty strong to be fair. We won the Middleton Cup in 2018 beating Devon. Lost to them in the Semi Final last year though.
-
I was there in the fours last year, but didn't do as well as we should have done. All four of us play Middleton Cup for Leicestershire. We just didn't get the rub of the green and it was so frustrating. I skip the majority of the time. Yeah it's definitely been rubbish! My club opened the green up for roll ups, but that's it. There wasn't a massive amount of interest, so they've closed again to start the post season green maintenance. I'm looking forward to next season (if we get the comps back). I've been very selective of what games I play, due to having a young family (and a mrs who moans at me for playing all the time lol), but I plan on playing a lot more next season after having a year off. Yes definitely buddy!
