Someone I work with has met him and his family quite a few times. By all accounts he is a very genuine, down to earth guy. I don't think he didn't care while he was here, but football is certainly a job to him. There's no shame in that. He had a lot of annoying injuries last season which in sure he wasn't pleased about.

Not sure why, but apparently we can watch the Preston game live, even in the UK! It's due to be on Sky Sports red button, so perhaps that has something to do with it? As in, it's not a "featured" match.

Possibly the case, but I'd say it's got more to do with Blackburn not pressing us much before the halfway line. They did as the game progressed and they were chasing it, but for large proportions they were clearly drilled to encourage our CBs to advance into their half before pressing and taking advantage of the space in behind. Really interesting point, I've noticed this quite a few times too. I presume it's because there isn't a pass on, or we don't have enough bodies ahead of the player with the ball? Yesterday I saw it happen with AFI a number of times, and he didn't drive on beyond his man. Seemed like there wasn't many options, so he checked back because he was anticipating it being a dead end.

Hope McAteer is okay and back soon. Horrible seeing players pull up like that, but even more so for him, considering how well he's done this season.

Blackburn are playing pretty well, and probably our toughest opponents yet in the league. Their pressing really hurts us, so we just have to keep finding ways to play through it. Getting a third early in the second half is key.

Doing the right thing here. Slowing it down, not getting drawn into Blackburn's basketball approach. Commentator made a good point about Rovers sitting in their half and waiting for us to all advance into it, then pounce. We're now having the CBs stay in our half, just, and draw the Rovers players out of their half. Make some space.

Full credit to him, he played really well. I don't think we can play him and Coady at the same time, as that backline will just be far too slow.
